The more I think of it, the more I think "The Dalek Invasion of Earth" is the only Barbara & Ian serial I've seen. I've heard a lot of good things about "The Romans" - I'll have to put that on my list of to-watch episodes. The running gag about the cardigan sounds awesome, too!
