still *more* drabbles!
Two drabbles for
narsilion: Request #1 was Fred and George trying to pick up a Muggle girl.
"Hey, gorgeous."
"D'you like... er... what's-it... telly-vision?"
"Shut up, Fred. What my brother's trying to say is, would you like to go to lunch with us?"
"We know all about M--I mean London. We could show you 'round, maybe?"
"Yup. Cinemas. Cars. Eckeltricity."
"Oy, shut it, mate! Dad's always bumming that up, we can't - damn it, you've lost us another one, George! We'll be in Muggle London all day without a date if you keep this up!"
"No, look, there's another one! Those boots look like they're painted on!"
"'Scuse me, miss. We're trying to find the underground..."
Request #2 was Joe and Methos talking about one of Joe's bad experiences in Vietnam.
As Methos entered the bar, Joe nodded and got out a bottle. Methos sat, staring at the notched dark wood of the bar. "I wasn't sure I was welcome. After Kronos..."
"Hey, I'm not Mac. He's a good guy, but you and me aren't the white knight types, like he is."
Methos nodded, accepting a tumbler of whiskey.
"Guys like us... hell, sometimes you do what you can, and it still ain't good enough. Kids get shot, villages go up, your brothers die, and," he waved his hand toward his legs, "you can't even trust the damned ground underneath you."
And one for
zinjadu, X-Files, with the prompt "Mulder, Scully, and an agreement."
"There's no way, Mulder."
"Come on, Scully... just this once. I swear, I won't ask again."
Scully glared at her partner, hands on her hips. "Yes you will. If I agree once, it'll happen next week, and the week after, until it's a habit. And I don't want this to be a habit, Mulder. I can't go down that road."
"Pleeeeeeease?"
After five years, it still amazed her that a grown man could make such successful puppy eyes. She closed her eyes, counted to ten...
"Fine. We'll order out for pizza. But I get to pick the toppings, and we're not getting that 'meat death' or whatever it is."

TV shows seem a bit in the grey area. My watching them on TV as opposed to downloading them really doesn't make them any more money. Of course, once they come out on DVD that's a different story, but I can't afford the DVD's right now. Once I have that money, I'll probably buy most of them just to have them for collection purposes anyway. I'd absolutely love to have a shelf of all of the shows I've downloaded so far, and hopefully someday I will. But I'm left to wonder how different downloading them is to borrowing them from my friends to watch them. I do both sometimes.
The real fact is, I've never had anybody respond negatively to the fact that I download things, which really makes it hard for me to feel bad about it... and my reasons for wanting the actual things is more about the feeling of accomplishment for having nice shiny things and the status symbol of being able to claim I have them all, than it is about being a good person. Wanting to support the artists weights in there, but it's hard to pinpoint exactly where, especially after hearing comments from several artists that all their money comes from concerts, not album sales.

Er, if it's okay, that is.
Tavis and Niamh. On the subject of elves.
BTW, I love yours so far. :D I'm not sure I could fit so much into such little space!

Thanks! I'm having a lot of fun working within the requirements. It really makes me focus on just one single idea, and makes it easier to fit in with my schedule, too.
