something wicked this way comes....

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] zinjadu (and all other Sean Bean and/or Shakespeare fans)...

Take a look at this.

♥ ♥ ♥

Update: Oh, and while I'm linkspamming... I did a little checking at the official Star Trek site (www.startrek.com, as though any of you couldn't have guessed it...) and found this:

In addition to clarifying that he may or may not direct the film, Abrams also distanced himself from Variety's report that the plot of "Star Trek XI" would revolve around a young James T. Kirk and Spock at Starfleet Academy.

"We've made a pact not to discuss any specifics," he said.

At the same time, though, he confessed to being a fan of the Original Series and remarked, "Those characters are so spectacular. I just think that... you know, they could live again."

I'm a bit relieved by this, honestly, mostly because the Starfleet Academy plot idea seemed even further from the usual Trek movie than I'd expect. Still very interested to see what comes of this.

I'm in love with that picture. Wow. ♥

[identity profile] oszras.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oooooh, thanks for the link. I'm going Spock hunting. :D

Funny I've never seen the series but I find Spock to be cool? Is that a fandom no-no? Is Spock the mean vicious bitch that everyone knows about but the stupid non-fandom geeks?

:D

Ohgodno. As far as I'm aware, it's more like it is absolutely unheard of in ST fandom for people not to love Spock. He's like... the ultimate in ST love.

...Or maybe that's just me. I totally had a crush on him when I was twelve. Very weird, looking back, but then... I am weird. o_O

[identity profile] oszras.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously, I love his ears. They are of teh sex.

Aw, how can you not love Spock, in those pics miss_arel sent me the link to, he's not quite a woobie. I think he might be a more hardcore love like Ivanova or Delenn, but he might be a woobie. I'll have to rent the show and find out.

Will Spock lovers hunt you down and flame you to death if someone says they don't like him? Like Cassie Claire's fangirls? Wow the imagery that brings. A bunch of Spock fans with the ears and everything hunting someone down with a water gun with a flame thrower on top of it. XD

There's just something about pointy ears...

Exactly. He's a great character, very very serious but kind of funny in his totally-doesn't-get-it kind of way. So sort of woobie and sort of hardcore all together. ♥

Interesting thought... I'm not sure? I think they would once have, but now, it's hard to say.

[identity profile] oszras.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
There a sign that he or she of said pointy ears probably know a lot more about sex than we normal eared people do...And I have no idea why I think that...it's just a feeling I get...weird.

Oooh! A Hardcore Woobie.

Yeah, I imagine the really hardcore fangirls/boys are in the geriatric ward by now. But there are probably young hardcore fans out there, probably on the interenet. Does it make me a weenie that I don't want to find out?

[identity profile] miss-arel.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
Spock is teh shiznit and I think most ST fans would eviscerate anyone who tried to say otherwise. XD He is without a doubt the most iconic and quite possibly the most beloved Star Trek character ever, out of all the different TV series and movies.

I think if there's a mean vicious bitch in the series, some of the fans might say McCoy, but I think he's just grouchy. You would be too, if you had to put up with Captain Sunshine all day and didn't have a Vulcan's patience to help you.

[identity profile] oszras.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, good I'm cool then. Also weird I think because I find Nimoy to sexy with those ears...

Aw, Bones is a woobie. Well he looks like a woobie in those pics at least. And I could totally understand that, who wouldn't want to stick a phaser up Captain I-Know-I-Am-Really-That-Good ass? Don't get me wrong Kirk is probably a nice guy but God he looks annoying.

[identity profile] miss-arel.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
Why do you think there are so many Legolas fangirls? And fanboys, for that matter? It's the ears, man.

Yes, he really is. ^^ A cranky, cantankerous woobie.

Kirk is... kind of like Superman in a way. Or Carrot from Discworld. You'd hate his guts if he weren't so damned likeable.

I vote that he's like Superman. Because most of the time, I don't like either of them.

[identity profile] miss-arel.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
Heeee. I don't mind Superman when he's got a good writer pulling his strings. Not that I read a lot of DC comics, but still. Superhero comics are, essentially, glorified fanfics and fanart, and we've all read our share of OOC badfic.

Before I skitter off to bed, I'll leave you with this bit from "Identity Crisis", cos it just about killed me.

Superman: He used a bowline knot.
Green Arrow: A what?
S: A bowline knot -- to tie the other end of this noose to the door. They call it a bowline knot, although he added a Dutch Marine twist.
G: And you recognized that?
S: It's a common Boy Scout knot.
G: ...Boy Scout. Right.

Anyway, bed!

Okay, point, point. He's a good character, I just don't like him as a person type of character, if that makes any sense.

*Snickers* Of course he was a boy scout. Of course. ♥

Oh, also? My mom gave me her old dresser 'cause it's bigger than the one I had, so I kept my old one so that you can use it. It might be kind of a bitch to get up to your room, but it's better than boxes...

[identity profile] miss-arel.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh... that would be nice. :D In particular, I'm looking to get a new desk (because I would really like one that's big enough for my computer!) But hey, I definitely wouldn't say no to a new dresser. ^^

Good stuff! Anyway, we'll figure a way to get it up into your room when you get here.

Oooh! Too true, like with G'Kar. I love G'Kar for everything I even think his spots are sexy. :D Er, please feel free to run away at any point in this coversation. :D

Aw, there's nothing better than a cranky woobie.

Kirk is Superman?!! My childhood! Oh god my childhood is gone.

And I totally hate it when you want to hate a character but you just can't. Like Bester, I love Bester but sometimes...:D
