Hey, [livejournal.com profile] zinjadu (and all other Sean Bean and/or Shakespeare fans)...

Take a look at this.

♥ ♥ ♥

Update: Oh, and while I'm linkspamming... I did a little checking at the official Star Trek site (www.startrek.com, as though any of you couldn't have guessed it...) and found this:

In addition to clarifying that he may or may not direct the film, Abrams also distanced himself from Variety's report that the plot of "Star Trek XI" would revolve around a young James T. Kirk and Spock at Starfleet Academy.

"We've made a pact not to discuss any specifics," he said.

At the same time, though, he confessed to being a fan of the Original Series and remarked, "Those characters are so spectacular. I just think that... you know, they could live again."

I'm a bit relieved by this, honestly, mostly because the Starfleet Academy plot idea seemed even further from the usual Trek movie than I'd expect. Still very interested to see what comes of this.

Kirk is... kind of like Superman in a way. Or Carrot from Discworld. You'd hate his guts if he weren't so damned likeable.

I vote that he's like Superman. Because most of the time, I don't like either of them.

Heeee. I don't mind Superman when he's got a good writer pulling his strings. Not that I read a lot of DC comics, but still. Superhero comics are, essentially, glorified fanfics and fanart, and we've all read our share of OOC badfic.

Before I skitter off to bed, I'll leave you with this bit from "Identity Crisis", cos it just about killed me.

Superman: He used a bowline knot.
Green Arrow: A what?
S: A bowline knot -- to tie the other end of this noose to the door. They call it a bowline knot, although he added a Dutch Marine twist.
G: And you recognized that?
S: It's a common Boy Scout knot.
G: ...Boy Scout. Right.

Anyway, bed!

Okay, point, point. He's a good character, I just don't like him as a person type of character, if that makes any sense.

*Snickers* Of course he was a boy scout. Of course. ♥

Oh, also? My mom gave me her old dresser 'cause it's bigger than the one I had, so I kept my old one so that you can use it. It might be kind of a bitch to get up to your room, but it's better than boxes...

Oooh... that would be nice. :D In particular, I'm looking to get a new desk (because I would really like one that's big enough for my computer!) But hey, I definitely wouldn't say no to a new dresser. ^^

Good stuff! Anyway, we'll figure a way to get it up into your room when you get here.
