Gacked from assorted people - a meme!

1. Where did you grow up?
Seattle-area suburbs, with some time (during highschool) spent in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

2. What were your favorite things to do when you were a kid?
My friends and I were big on playing pretend, basically coming up with some general concept and then acting out stories. It was a blast, and I think it's why I love acting, writing, and RPing, now - I got started really really early. I've also always read. I mean a LOT.

3. Did you ever think your family was "weird"?
Not really, which is odd since looking back I kind of realize that yeah, we were pretty weird.

4. Do you have any phobias?
I'm exceedingly leery of walking alone at night, paranoid about getting lost when I'm traveling alone, and very very nervous of driving. I don't count the latter two as phobias, though, since... well, I'm scared of them because I really do get lost sometimes, and I honestly am a crummy driver.

5. What are your guilty pleasures?
Star Trek, The X-Files, fan fiction and fan art (especially of the... less-than-PG-13 variety *g*), Laurell K Hamilton's books, and french fries.

6. List three things you think are overrated:
Most video games (what can I say, I'm a snob...), the majority of what's on TV (especially 'reality' TV), getting flat-off-your-ass drunk.

7. List three things you think are underrated:
Reading, hard work, making things yourself, and the time it takes to get readings done.

8. Have you ever passed out?
No, surprisingly. I say surprising, since I get really dizzy on the order of about once a month, so I'm impressed that I've never actually passed out.

9. Do you consider yourself patriotic?
Not particularly. I love my city, most of my state, and parts of the country, and I love the ideas on which America was founded. Beyond that, I think we're just as much of fuck-ups as any other country, and we're hypocritical enough to think otherwise, which I can't stand.

10. Has anyone ever told you that you look like someone famous?
Someone in my highschool said I looked like Willow, from Buffy, when I had my hair shoulder-length and dark red. And my grandma once said I looked like one of the sisters from Sense and Sensibility. If she meant Kate Winslet, that was awfully wishful thinking, but if she meant Emma Thompson I might be willing to believe it.

11. Do you hold grudges?
Yes, I'm a spiteful bitch if I get really hacked off. Fortunately, I have the temper of a fire - it comes and goes relatively quickly.

12. Is there anything you want but can't afford right now?
A lot of things, most of them decor stuff for the new house. It'll work out, but I'm being a tightwad at the moment, til my bank account recovers from signing the lease. ;)

13. Have you ever gone to the movies alone?
Not yet, and I really want to. Maybe I'll do that over winter break.

14. Are you more a morning person or a night person?
Kind of a late-evening person. I like to go to bed around midnight and get up around 9:30am, if I can.

15. What is the most disturbing book you ever read?
Oh bugger... You know, I totally can't think of one right now.

16. Have you ever had a horrible roommate?
I think stupid bitch who puked on our floor after going out drinking for the umpteen-billionth time would qualify. And also girl who brought four friends over to get ready for going out in our tiny, cramped 3-person dorm room. Gods am I glad I'm not in the dorms anymore. That was hell.

17. Do you have a favorite season?
I think I like Autumn best, but it's really hard for me to choose just one.

18. Have you ever been part of a love triangle?
Yeah, I have, sort of.

19. Have you ever cut anyone's hair?
No, but I used to trim my own, back when I was growing my hair out. The back would start to look like a mullet, so I'd just chop it off myself, rather than paying someone to do it.

20. Name one thing that made you happy today:
Getting into The Viking Sagas for next quarter!!!

*refrains from making New Hampshire jokes, all of which Jen has probably heard anyway*

It's okay. You just attended a class program there. You didn't actually live there. ;-)

Oh, hey, where would the closest place to get appliances be to the house? *is trying to plan in advance for Thursday*

*Snickers* And one of my best friends while I was out there was from Connecticut, too. XD

o.O Umm.... I have no idea. There's the Target at Northgate mall, but there's gotta be something closer than that...

Kari has this magical ability to find things that involves googling or something, you might ask her?

*sporffles* Oh god...you just reminded me of this tape one of the fish department guys used to play sometimes. It was from one of those morning shows, and it was all these filks that made fun of the various New England states that weren't Massachussets. I think I tried to sing 'In Maine' for you, once.... I have the sudden desire to track down these filks.

Yeah, there has to be somewhere right in the area. *turns to Kari and her magical ability* And was reminded I need to get towels for myself, and other small necessity things like that.

Lmao. That sounds awesome. I didn't know anybody from Maine, over there, I don't think, but in my friends' circle we had one or two Bostonians (I actually can't remember where our friend Duck was from... someplace with a hoity-toity boarding-school called The Hill School? Trump's youngest son went there, and David (Duck) was fond of telling stories of how dumb the guy was...), Peach, from Connecticut, a girl from Venezuela (Mariana) and... damn, I can't remember where some of the people were from, anymore. And a bunch of other Seattleites. Some of us had bonded on the plane, so we stuck together. XD

Ooo, yes - towels are good!

Stephen King's son went to the Academy that was sort of near my High School.....

Yeah, I got nothing but candy-canes. ;-)

Towels are very good!
