mmm...

My face.... is covered in pumpkin pie filling. Very expensive pumpkin pie filling. And I'm happy about this.

Yes... I succumbed. I bought a pumpkin facial mask from Bath and Body Works. I also bought a sample set with their oil-control cleanser, white tea line prevention serum, line reducing serum, and oil-control moisturizer. Why? Because my normal facial mask is probably old enough that I shouldn't be using it... and because I wanted to treat myself. My skin is one of my most constant annoyances, and I can afford to spend a bit on stuff that will be good for it. I'm also going to replace my current foundation very soon, with Clinique stuff - a present to myself for getting through the quarter.

And I have new shoes. I hope these ones don't kill my feet as soon as I try to walk around campus in them. The good news out of this whole shoe fiasco is that my hiking boots are now very well-worn-in and comfy. Yay for comfy hiking boots... now I just need to get back into going hiking!

And I saw Hidalgo! It was really cool - lots of amazing horse stuff, really fun acting, and generally an exciting and intersting story, even if the old guy at the end of our row did fall asleep through most of the movie with his legs stretched out so I had a hard time leaving to go to the bathroom. TJ, the horse who plays Hidalgo, is totally adorable - such personality! And, of course, Viggo was his usual delightful, mumbly, sexy, stubbly self. And I'm impressed all over again at his talent with languages - speaking Lakota Sioux just as beautifully as he did Elvish. ♥

And we saw the trailer for Troy, too! I snerked every damned time Orlando walked on screen, sadly - he's so... earnest. So angsty and "look I have gigantic puppy-dog eyes aren't I gorgeous and don't you love me?" And I do. He makes me want to pat him on the head and give him a cookie. Brad Pitt... will do well, I think, playing one of the greatest assholes of ancient history. And they need to put Sean Bean in the trailer, damn it! He's Odysseus, for crying out loud!!! Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought Odysseus was one of the coolest of the Greek heroes. And loving Sean Bean makes it all the better. ;)

Must go wash off the pumpkin, now. Wheeeeee.

ETA: I forgot to mention how damned cool it was to see the herd of wild mustangs at the end of Hidalgo and the fleet of Greek ships in the Troy preview. And the army landing the ships... and the army of Greek soldiers meeting up with the Trojans outside the city walls... Ohmigod. Just realized that Sean Bean will once again have Shield Like Dinner Plate. Yay! Now that is a funny image. Boromir!Odysseus.
