Sneaking in just before the end of the day...

Blog for Choice Day - January 22, 2007

One of the core values of the United States constitution was the idea that even a majority should not be able to take away rights from other citizens. If any individual person doesn't find abortions acceptable to their personal beliefs or morality, that's just fine. They are under no obligation to have one. But the day a woman who doesn't want to carry a child to term is forced to because she has no recourse other than to back-alley operations that might leave her maimed or fatally wounded, the spirit of the principles on which this country was founded will have been failed. I may or may not agree with any individual choice for an abortion, but I believe without a moment's doubt in that individual's right to make that choice.

...In wholly personal (but nonetheless very thrilling, for me at least) news, there is once again running water in my house. Praise be to every deity I can think of.
