Lol. Happily, they do have a little "legend" type thing explaining the special-function buttons in the bathroom with it... which was better than the public toilets today, which at least just auto-flushed. The squat toilet of the two of them was a bit surprising, but only because I'd never seen one before. And oh yes, I've heard stories about the bidet button. ;)
The miming thing is really working for us so far, and yes, I'm definitely getting used to the fact that everyone's used to silly foreigners who don't get it. I still feel embarrassed about it, but it seems normal.
