dim sum and movies
Sep. 4th, 2004 12:50 pmWent out to Dim Sum in the International District yesterday with Neil and Fey, meeting up with some of Neil's friends. Jose and Chadam (wow, I have no idea how to spell his name...) are nice guys, as was George, who I'd never met before. And Dim Sum was quite nice. Turns out I do actually sort of like Hum Bow. Go figure.
After lunch, we came back to the apartment, futzed with Fey's poor computer for a bit, then went out and rented Secret Window and Along Came Polly. Both good movies, although I hid from the climax of Secret Window. Johnny Depp was good, but not as spectacular as in many other movies. And! When we went to get a special screw-driver set for working on the computer, we found Mesmer for only $5!!!! So. Very. Happy.
Anyway, stayed up late chatting about random shit after the movies, and a grand old time was had. Theoretically we're gonna do the movie thing again today, so yay! I'm told that I must see 9th Gate, and, I think, will probably hide from several parts of it. But if I enjoy the rest of it as much as I did Sleepy Hollow, it will be more than worth it.
My tuition account balance is up on personal page on the UW website. It is not pretty. I am hoping they haven't taken my financial aid into account yet, as otherwise I am in some rather deep shit for this first quarter. *Growls*

Date: 2004-09-04 01:27 pm (UTC)We have to watch Mesmer soon. And I need to see Sleepy Hollow again. And I think you will like 9th Gate. I keep thinking it was based on a book, and that I need to read the book. The chick in it is awesome, I forget her name. She's foreign and very hot.
I still can't over the Rocky Horror Cardassians in my dream last night.

Heh. That was totally my bad. Funny thing is, I didn't dream about Cardassians at all last night, after we'd actually talked about them, but I did a few days ago, for no apparent reason whatsoever. Totally bizarre.

Date: 2004-09-04 05:07 pm (UTC)It was! Some parts were truly scary, but mostly it was really fun. And Johnny Depp is amazing.
