Went out to Dim Sum in the International District yesterday with Neil and Fey, meeting up with some of Neil's friends. Jose and Chadam (wow, I have no idea how to spell his name...) are nice guys, as was George, who I'd never met before. And Dim Sum was quite nice. Turns out I do actually sort of like Hum Bow. Go figure.

After lunch, we came back to the apartment, futzed with Fey's poor computer for a bit, then went out and rented Secret Window and Along Came Polly. Both good movies, although I hid from the climax of Secret Window. Johnny Depp was good, but not as spectacular as in many other movies. And! When we went to get a special screw-driver set for working on the computer, we found Mesmer for only $5!!!! So. Very. Happy.

Anyway, stayed up late chatting about random shit after the movies, and a grand old time was had. Theoretically we're gonna do the movie thing again today, so yay! I'm told that I must see 9th Gate, and, I think, will probably hide from several parts of it. But if I enjoy the rest of it as much as I did Sleepy Hollow, it will be more than worth it.

My tuition account balance is up on personal page on the UW website. It is not pretty. I am hoping they haven't taken my financial aid into account yet, as otherwise I am in some rather deep shit for this first quarter. *Growls*

Was Hum Bow the big pastry puff thingy with the pork and gravy inside? Because that was very good. So were the little pork pastries. It was really, really good. I'd definitely go again.

We have to watch Mesmer soon. And I need to see Sleepy Hollow again. And I think you will like 9th Gate. I keep thinking it was based on a book, and that I need to read the book. The chick in it is awesome, I forget her name. She's foreign and very hot.

I still can't over the Rocky Horror Cardassians in my dream last night.

Yeah, that's the stuff - my friends at school eat them all the time, and I'd always kind of gone "eew, barbecue." But they're good! It was all good, yeah. The coconut tarts were a little too dry/crumbly for me, though. I was hoping for stickier dessert type things.

Yes!! I could definitely see Sleepy Hollow again, and you sooooo have to see Ed Wood. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are a match made in heaven, I swear.

Heh. That was totally my bad. Funny thing is, I didn't dream about Cardassians at all last night, after we'd actually talked about them, but I did a few days ago, for no apparent reason whatsoever. Totally bizarre.

That stuff is sooo good. The coconut tarts were really dry, yeah. They weren't bad, but I expected something more sticky and gooey in the middle.

Tim Burton/Johnny Depp! Theirloveissobeautifullycreepy!

You had a premenition of Cardassians!

lol, I always hide from the scary or extra gory parts in movies too. My roommates mock, but I've gone beyond caring at this point.

But Sleepy Hollow was surprisingly funny in parts. And it's so hard not to completely love Johnny Depp.

I'm awful about it, and more or less have no shame, now. I knit while I watch movies, so I just pretend intense interest in the knitting.

It was! Some parts were truly scary, but mostly it was really fun. And Johnny Depp is amazing.

Yeah, some parts of Sleepy Hollow were a bit too gory for me, but some of the scenes were just awesome. I'm glad they got Johnny Depp instead of another actor, because I think someone else might have just gone for the horror, but Johnny was definitely playing up the campier parts.

And Johnny Depp is very amazing.

Yeah, I kind of... I'm a huge wimp, so parts of it freaked me the hell out. Even watching the DVD on my tiny little monitor. But Johnny made it worth while, being his usual goofy self.

We will at the very least watch it again with you, most certainly. I'm not sure either of us will survive two weeks with new Alan Rickman movie in the house without pouncing on it. XD
