I'm not sure, but I think I may have mastered the knitting of things that won't turn out looking like my classic tube-scarf things. Only someone as spastic as me could manage to accidentally learn stockinette stitching before regular plain ole knitting... and make three scarves that way before realizing what the problem was, too.

In other news, I really should not be knitting right now. I should be doing reading. Also, knitting is probably not good for my wrist, which has been acting up like crazy the last few days. I think I may have given myself carpal tunnel... it can't really be spelled that way, can it?

Oh well. So I get to wear my amazingly stylish ace bandage to most of my classes. *Sighs*

Also, Linguistics 203 is stupid and should die. I'm getting seriously annoyed with that class. Quiz section today was So Very Boring, and the TA, charming as she is, is pissing me off. It's so easy! Stupid me, I thought that taking an actual linguistics class would be harder than that 'Linguistics for English majors' type thing I took last year. Obviously, I was mistaken. TA asked a (stupid) question, today, and said she wanted the non-linguistics people to answer. I raised my hand. "No, no - you're a linguistics person!" "I'm an English major." *Growls*

But! We get to go look at a house tomorrow! Yay!

Well, knitting in the round in stockinette shows up earlier than knitting flat pieces. So you can just think of yourself as approaching medieval knitting :)

*laughs* Yes! That's what I was doing! I was attempting to learn knitting in the most historical manner possible... riiiiiight....

You've probably ended up with tendonitis, if I had to make a guess. If you had carpal tunnel, you pretty much wouldn't be able to even lift anything without severe pain. At least from what I understand about it. My friend Kay in High School had carpal tunnel - she was a drummer - and she had to go to two months worth of physical therapy, plus major pain killers, just to be able to write comfortably.

Yeah, that sounds a bit more reasonable. I definitely don't have any serious problems with it, it just hurts when I bend it.

You know, if you single crochet around the edges a couple times and then pin them flat and iron them (under a thin layer of fabric), stockinette scarves can be quite nice. I've made a couple like that. Of course, then I got lazy and just started doing a bit on each edge in garter/rib stitch, knitting them on round needles as tubes or just doing plain garter stitch.

...now I want to knit again...hmmm.
