aaaand... I'm sick
Jan. 13th, 2005 04:51 pmSo, apparently I left my hair too wet before going to bed last night. Or something. Or maybe some insidious little bug is just finally catching up to me, just in time for the holiday weekend.
In any case, I'm sick. What started out as a plugged ear that wouldn't go away has slowly, over the course of the day, evolved into a generally stuffed-up head (still mostly in one ear, but rather uncomfortable in the nose and forehead, too), bit of a headache, what seems to be the beginnings of a sore throat, and what is most likely the start of a swollen gland in my neck. Oh, and the back of my neck keeps twinging like it's stiff or something. Fun.
Naturally, this would happen on a day when I have to be at work til 10:30 or so, then bus home.
I've eaten an orange, and now I'm dosing myself with as much green tea as I can drink while praying that tonight's closing goes relatively easily. When I get home, I'm going to bed, possibly after taking medication of some sort. Tomorrow, I've decided that I'm going to sleep all day and then get up with just enough time to make some sort of salad and go to the Feast of St Bunstable. And then come home, and sleep.
Good news: I don't have work on Sunday night, and no class on Monday. Bad news: I have a presentation in Modern Poetry on Tuesday, on Pound and Eliot. So hopefully I'm feeling all better by then.

Date: 2005-01-14 03:12 am (UTC)The thing with my back is just a symptom of my posture; I've been letting it slip ever since I left theater, and hours sitting around poring over my reading does absolute hell to it. But you're right that it's definitely not a good sign in general.
