writer's night

Hung out with shadawyn and nekokoban this evening, and then zinjadu when she got back from moving stuff. 'Twas very fun, we talked a lot about writing, among other things, and Anne gave me a beautiful new hair-pin thingy! It's very sparkly, and I shall have to figure out an outfit I can wear it with sometime this week. Perhaps with my turquoise jewelry which turns out not to be on the verge of breaking apart, after all! *g*

My writing goals for the summer, posted here because it will blackmail me further into keeping up with them:

1. Write 200+ words every day, to be increased if I find this is too easy. RPing does not count.
2. Come up with, and honestly work on, at least one original story.
3. More to be added to this once the previous goal is in progress.

After saying I'm about to do so for the last three hours or so, I am now finally going to get back to work editing the current chapter of "Interference." Yay, editing.

Happy Father's Day to all those fine fathers out there!

On a note somewhat related to that holiday, I will either be posting chapter Chapter 4 today, or writing a little extra bit in honor of the day. Probably the latter, as Interference is fighting with me recently, and I'm not comfortable yet with posting the chapter. Either way, I'm not letting my favorite fictional father/daughter team escape the day without some attention. ;)

Been cleaning this morning - just trying to organize the kitchen now that there's a lot less stuff in it. It looked silly with all the spaces between things, and some of the things we'd done to save space can be undone now that there's only 2.5 people's dishes in the house. Theo's being all weird, I think because of how many changes the house has been going through lately. I'd also like to clean my room, but the going's been slow.

The house is feeling very empty right now. I hope Kendra will be here for longer than an hour or so today - a lot of her stuff seems to be there in the attic, but I've yet to see her since I gave her the key. So I presume she's still moving stuff. Still looking for two sublets, and one permanent roommate. We've got a hopeful, but we'll hear back today on whether or not that'll pan out. *Crosses fingers very much.*

Summer classes start for everyone tomorrow, and, damn them, they all get up later than I do. Ah well. I like having that part of my day done early, at least.

About that Father's Day fic...

It'll be posted tomorrow, probably. I was almost finished with something until I had a funny niggling feeling that my facts weren't meshing right with canon. I was right.

God bless online episode transcripts, and people on communities who point me to them. Also, my favorite in the battle of Amy's last name seems to be the losing contestant. "Thomas" it is. Pity - I liked "Brennan" a lot better. Too bad whichever writer quoted that as her last name was really confused, it seems.
