I'm FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
....Except not really. >.<
Technically, I've been released from jury duty because I was randomly chosen as one of the two alternates (if only I could get this lucky with a real lottery!), which is why I'm here at my office on campus typing away uselessly on LJ, rather than in a stuffy little jury room debating the merits of the case we've been hearing. *g* I am, however, still on call in case one of the twelve jurors has some sort of emergency and they call me back in. And I can't talk about the case (STILL!) until the court calls to inform me of the verdict. So you'll all have to hold your breath for just a little bit longer. ;)
And I got a shiny little certificate for my efforts. No, I'm not kidding - the state actually makes out these certificates for all the jurors.
Sadly, I had talked myself out of buying anything at Elliot Bay Bookstore yesterday, so I never got to use my juror discount. Ah well - I don't really need new books, anyway. Not reeeally.
And, a bit of shameless self-contemplation: ( Meme! )
