I must be not awake enough, yet, to be excited by this

New pictures of Eleven's outfit and companion are floating around. I, personally, only find myself capable of caring that there were so many people posting bits of information out of cuts over on doctrwho that I had to go ahead and look at the pictures because, what the hell, I already knew half of it. :P

And, at the risk of restarting an old argument, they still both look about 12. The outfits are fine, although I will say... ( CUT! See, community? This is how you do it. )

Now... does anybody know what day the 'Hobbit' casting controversy was rumored to be cleared-up on? I keep right on hearing there'll be an announcement at ComicCon (although, for the record, I don't believe it'll be That Person Everyone Says It Might Be, even though that would be the most awesome thing ever... if bizarre in terms of "type" for the character), so... which day is it exactly that I should be hovering over TheOneRing.net, refreshing every five seconds? :)

movie review - "Moon"

Over the weekend and after burning ourselves out with moving the last of my stuff and cleaning out my apartment and all, The Boy and I went to see "Moon." And it was pretty darned awesome. Overall, it reminded me most of the collections of 1960's/70's era sci-fi short stories that I've read - something that would have fit in well in an Analog collection. It was tight, suspenseful and tense, it was beautiful without focusing too much on spectacle, and it was very human - the people (well, person in this case - there's really only one main character) were the center of the story.

If you like the real classics in sci-fi, I can't recommend this one highly enough. Beautiful cinematography, too, and some very nice art direction to go with the fabulous acting from the lead.
