I just spent something like three hours (during which I meant to be writing) digging through old LJ entries from four years ago, and do you know what I discovered? Although I mentioned the old RPs pretty regularly for about two years, I apparently never actually said anything of any worth about them. Anything, like, you know, actually saying what was going on. *Headdesk*

So I put it to you all, old RP folks - what are your favorite memories of IB/ADV?

And does anybody remember how the heck Tom Riddle got turned into an armadillo? Because that randomly came up in a conversation with a friend yesterday, and I was at a complete loss to explain it.

...Totally unrelated: There are some very upset-sounding young men shouting at each other in the street outside our apartment. I feel it is too early in the evening for this crap.

I really shouldn't care about this... but it just occurred to me that I think I failed to copy over all my old RPG files when I reformatted this computer. I wrote... sickening amounts for that game. I mean, piles of writing. Piles of it. And unless it's backed up somewhere on a CD, or unless the site (which I no longer have the bookmark for, whoops) is still online... it's all gone.

Two years' worth of writing down the tubes. Just like that. I mean, it wasn't exactly genius work, but... still!

I have this horrible temptation to run and copy down all my significant posts from the more recent games, now, just to make sure I don't lose them when the accounts have been inactive for long enough.

Slowly. Painfully. It's beating me into submission, and it refuses to come to a good ending. Hello? How is this difficult? Dear fic: please come to your point and be finished. I know I have a point. I know I do. It is not difficult. But somehow, I can only seem to hold two of the three threads in my hands at any given moment, and as soon as I grab the other one, one of of the two I'd already had slips away. The comparisons all seemed so easy until it came to this last bit! Now it won't go!

It's done. I don't even care anymore. But I think it's finally done. All it took was a walk to the grocery store, some water and yoghurt-covered blueberries, the boredom of waiting for the bus, lack of paper aside from an envelope to scribble on, and then another hour of angst and distraction. And cat puke, and a shattered egg, but that's another story altogether.

For nekokoban - FMA, either Armstrong and his 'symbiote' or Al with kittens. As cute as Al with kittens is... I had to do the symbiote.

Please stop it with the "DO NOT READ" meme. If I see something labelled "Do Not Read" I will, miraculously, not read. I will also assume you are wangsting and have forgotten how to use the "private" or "custom-friends-locked" functions. If the point is to find the friends who will read it.... I'm not one of them. Plus, it makes me go "What the fuck is up with people today?" until I figure out that it's a meme.

Kari and I spent waaaaaaaaaay too much time talking about random shit last night. It was fun. Topics of conversation (as I remember) included politics, religion, Highlander and a very bored Methos attempting to freak out Richie by coming on to him, our characters at IB, and how we'd like to someday play late-teenaged Lucius, Bellatrix, and Rodolphus as the Anti-Trio. And, somewhere in there, how we plan on writing an essay on why het is a Good Thing sometimes, and why some canon het pairings just shouldn't be fucked with.

Writers, actors, and role-players must all have some aspect of the sadist in them.

There's something horrifically fun about watching your character's whole life and world-view come crashing down around her ears.

Went to bed early last night and *still* slept in too damned late.... oh well, hopefully this'll help get my rhythms back on track in time for school. I have to get up at 6am on Monday - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwww.

Anyway, I had a very cool New Years. Went to 's place (oh, what an amazing view of the fireworks we had!!!) with and , who very kindly allowed me to crash at their place for the night, and even fed me (bonus!)! *grins* I got to see their pictures from London, too, and got a totally EEEEVIL Tolkien quiz book for Christmas. Some of these questions are just mind-boggling - woohoo!

It's still snowy here... I'm hoping there'll be snow up on campus sometime soon so the other halflings (Dora, Terra, Cora), Sean, and I can have a snowball fight. That'd be terrific.

It feels weird having left Petrificus, but I'm looking forward to the new RP that I got suckered into - it looks to have some great potential, and I've wanted for a while to play Narcissa. This is gonna be fun.
