Last grade was finally posted - I got a 3.8 in Comparative Family Structure!

That's a 3.83 for the quarter. Yay!!!

Am so relieved.

In other news, Interference is taking a teeny bit of a break while I try to figure out where the hell I'm moving in the next few chapters and do some revamping of the current chapter. I had Kari read it last night, and we decided that opening needed some more work, and I need to pare down some excess stuff that doesn't necessarily fit with where I am at the moment. With the exception of some initial brainstorming on theme, I've been writing each chapter as it comes, flying by the seat of my pants on where each one takes me. I've liked that, for the most part, since they've all continued in the right direction... but I want to work a little harder and try to make something cohesive in the end. So it's to the drawing board, with me, and working out the arc of where I've been, where I'm at, and where I'm going with this story, before I do anything else. Considering I feel like I'm about half-way through the narrative, it's probably more than time to do so. I know what I want, I just need to figure out how to get there. ;)

We watched some X-Files last night, which was really fun - "Quagmire," "How the Ghosts Stole Christmas," and the silly 6th season one that's based on COPS. I don't know the title of that one. Today, I'm going to wander around and pick up applications at a few places (ugh) and edit Interference.

Congrats on the GPA! That's mighty impressive, and you don't have to worry about it anymore :)

Thanks! I'm very happy to have that off my shoulders... so that I can start worrying about other things. ;)

Cool! on the GPA. :)

X-Cops, and it's a 7th season ep. Does feel more like 6th, though, doesn't it?

Yes, I am a huge X-Files geek *g*

Ah, thanks! I get the seasons mixed up all the time, especially since I quit watching after David Duchovny left. The chemistry of the show was just never the same, after that, and I didn't like whats-his-name. The new partner.

X-Files is a very good thing to geek over. :D

Dogget. And I like the actor just fine, but the character? Ehhhh. Too damned dour. The stories started going to hell in a hand basket at that point, too.

My flatmate and I started tuning in again for the last season when Duchovny came back, but there had been too much damage done by that point. The whole pregnant Scully thing was beyond ridiculous, and do NOT get me started on what they did to my beloved Lone Gunmen in "Jump the Shark"!

True story. The day after the ep aired where Krycek died, a friend and fellow X-Files geek at work came up to the desk and said very solemnly, "I am so sorry for your loss," and then gave me a slice of cake with a rubber rat stuck on top. Our boss was soooo confused. *g*

Dogget, that's right. A friend of mine had the hugest crush on him/his actor, and the actor seemed good, I just couldn't get used to the change. The whole thing with Scully suddenly being the believer was kind of an interesting switch, but they played too much on it.

I pretend the pregnancy thing never happened. Completely. And yeah, I don't know how the hell they could've killed the Lone Gunmen. They were such awesome characters. I'm glad I didn't see that episode. And I'm still appalled that they actually killed the Smoking man. Again, I missed the ep, but just hearing about it blew my mind. He can't die! He's the ultimate evil!

Awww, that's so cute! Krycek was such a fun little bastard, and such a delight to hate. The ongoing joke among my friends, stemming from the fact that Nick Lea guest starred on Highlander as a crazy-ass rogue of an immortal with a personality just like Krycek's, is that he never really died - he just moved on and created a new identity. ;)

...I'm sorry, they what?

Holy hell. AUGH.

Side note -- Nick Lea is, like, guest star extraordinaire. I'm amused at how many other series he shows up in, at least once or so.

Ack! I'm sorry, I keep forgetting that you're only just watching the show now!!! *Plugs your ears for further spoilers*

Yeah, he totally is. That's the way the old Vancouver circuit was, though - I've heard people claim that there are actually only about twenty actors in Vancouver, and they just cycle from one show to another. Scully's dad on the X-Files is the colonel on Stargate, Krycek is an immortal thief on Highlander, Methos from Highlander is a Tok'ra on Stargate, etc. *g*

Heh, if I didn't want spoilers for a show that's been off the air for... how many years? ...Anyway, I wouldn't be on the internet. ;3

Sparky's doing a pretty good job of keeping spoilers from me though. :D So up till now I've been going "Aaah, omg, wow!" a lot of the time.

(btw, is it just me, or is it kind of tempting fate to name an episode of your series "Jump the Shark"? I mean, really.)

*snickers* That's hilarious. I'd love to see that episode of Highlander...

It was an awesome episode. If I ever manage to get hold of the DVDs for that season, I'll get hold of you - Fey took her copies home (obviously) and I'm too cheap to pay $80 for one season. Hopefully I can find them cheaper somewhere.

I've heard people suggest that Second Time Around on the Ave is good for DVD sets at cheap prices, since people pawn them all the time.

...We really should get together sometime. Even just coming by to see where you live! Cripes. >.>

And very much yay for better hours. I'm in search of a second job, but I'm still hoping for my schedule to be at least *sort of* sane, no matter what I end up doing.

The day after the ep aired where Krycek died

Nooooooo! T_T

...I'm watching 5th season right now and everyone tells me that it's the last of the good stuff. I'll keep watching for Krycek however. And I had my suspicions about him dying, but... augh. *hangs head*

It's not the last of the good stuff - there are some really fun episodes in 6 and 7, I thought. Just stop when Mulder leaves, and you'll be happy.

Hmmmm. I almost hate to -- I like watching things in their entirety if I can. But maybe in this case I can stop myself before I regret my completist urges. :X

I've heard there's some interesting stuff in the last chunk, so maybe you'll like it. I was just very not into the guy they got to replace Mulder, and the relationship between the two of them was such a huge part of why I liked the show that it didn't feel worthwhile anymore.

That icon says it all. *Joy*

It's totally possible I'll watch it and like it still, but, yeah, I really don't like the idea of Mulder being gone. Mulder's awesome. D: And the relationship between them is amazing... Though I hear it goes into a more romantic turn? I'm not sure if I like that idea much either. :\ Part of the reason I like them so much is the partnership without necessarily going off into romance. *sigh*

I just saw that episode last night and that line totally slayed me. XD

Eh... they do, but they don't. Up til the end, it's not really to the point of "OHMIGOD HAVE YOU NOTICED THEY'RE IN LOVE!!!!!" like some series would do. But they play it more and more in increasingly less subtle ways up to the end. I like it, but that's just 'cause I see them as so devoted to each other that they might as well. Besides, no other woman (or man, for that matter) could ever put up with Mulder or hold him in line as well as Scully does. ;)

Remind me which episode that's from? It's been a long time since I've seen some of them.

And it's season4:episode4, Detour. Mothmen in the Florida everglades (which look suspiciously like the rainforests hereabouts, rather than the everglades, of course). *grins* Good episode.

I'm sorry you have to do the application thing...no word from KPMG yet? I was going tobe seeing Sandy tonight, but Bunco got cancelled,
I will try to remember to call her tomorrow to see if she knows if anything is up. I'll let you know, ok?
Congratulations again, that is so wonderful, you deserve it, you worked sooo hard!

No KPMG, I think it's probably a lost cause by now. I picked up applications at some places on the Ave today, and I'll do those tomorrow at work, drop them off on the way home, and go back out to search Wallingford, or maybe Greenlake.
