I have never in my life been rained on so much.

When I left for work this morning, there was a mild little... oh, a hard mist, I'd say. A tiny drizzle at the worst. I wanted to go back for my umbrella and a warmer shirt, but I didn't want to miss the early bus since I was finally on schedule for it.

The early bus never showed up, and the rain just kept getting worse. But still, no big deal, right? I'm a Seattle-ite, I think - a little rain will not kill me.

By the time I got off the second bus at campus, 'a little rain' had become a downpour - HUGE drops of rain the likes of which I have rarely seen, pounding down everywhere, making the pavement look like it's boiling. By the time I got to the building where I work, I was absolutely drenched. My pants are soaked up to the upper thigh, my hair is soaked, my socks are wet, and just as I was getting to the building it got so bad that the water dripping into my eyes was making it nearly impossible for me to keep my eyes open, because of my contacts getting messed up.

I've 'borrowed' one of the sweaters from the lost and found, and I think I'll be doing the same with an umbrella on the way home. I look like a drowned cat. And I need tea, desperately.

Oh no!

Yeah, I did. And I wore the sweater home, so I wasn't cold on the way back, at least. I'd stupidly assumed that since it was warm yesterday, it'd be fairly warm today, too. See if I make that assumption again anytime soon...

Got your message from the day before yesterday, by the way - I'm sorry, my cellphone's been off a lot, and then I accidentally put it in manner mode and forgot to take it off, so I completely missed your call.
