Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything really interesting.

What I can tell you is that sitting around in a jury room all day is reeeeeeeaaaally boring, that the books I had brought also turned out to be really boring, that I seem to have finally reached the point where years of reading pile up on me to give me eye-strain if I read for more than a few hours at a time, that everyone in the fucking county wants to do a hardship withdrawal if they find out they've been randomly picked for a week-and-a-half long trial, and, lastly, that our bailiff looked eerily like a cross between Rob Lowe and that guy who played the creepy doctor in Batman Begins. Cute, but kind of scary.

I have to go in again tomorrow for more jury selection, so everybody keep your fingers crossed that I'll get un-selected and actually be able to make money next week. At least this week it's half days (9-12) on Wednesday and Thursday, and no jury folk needed at all on Friday. Next week would be all day all week, most likely, if I'm chosen.

The good news of the day was that while the judge and attorneys read our questionaires, I had from 11am to 1pm free downtown. I wandered, went to Pike Place, got a few free samples, then bought a spinach roll at the Australian Pie place, wandered more, and stopped by the new Seattle Central Library to get my Seattle library card. That is one huge library, and it makes me very happy to think of exploring it.

It's so nice! The elevators are kind of scary in how bright they are, though. I'm sort of afraid to go in one.

ooh yeah, the part i like the least is those horrible yellow green elevators. they make my eyes hurt when I'm in them. ^_^ good reason to take the stairs tho eh? (and by stairs, i mean escalators! lol)

There are escalators? Oh, thank god. I've only been twice now, but I worked up the courage to go in an elevator today, and it was reeeeeeally scary. I don't like things that are that color, they're painful.

Damn, I was hoping you'd get out of it. Fingers are crossed for being un-selected tomorrow. How late did you have to stay today?
I have not been in the new library yet, although I have seen it from the outside, It's really something! Good luck tomorrow sweety!

I finally got released around 4:15. Fingers definitely crossed. This'd be an interesting case, but I'd very much prefer to be making money, instead.

It's really neat inside! Kind of scary in how big and... I don't know... not quite sterile, but sort of modern-art-y it is. But nice, nonetheless.

Which courthouse have they got you in? I hope you get unselected though, I know despensing justice this week isn't your idea of a good time.

*crosses fingers*

Superior court, downtown. The one on James.

Dispensing justice would be just fine if they'd pay me more than $10 a day for it. As it is, I don't know how they expect anybody to be able to afford to do it for more than a day or two.
