Lionhearts

I'm home from Lionhearts, a baronial-level SCA event. I have a purring cat in my lap, a new-to-me down mattress-pad on my futon, new tea in my collection, and, best of all, a brand new necklace and scroll.

I was awarded a Green Leaf today, an award for service. I think I was in shock, and I know that my knees and hands were shaking when I took the scroll. I'm soooo proud. I've never gotten an award before. Hell, I'm still proud when people in the Barony remember my name.

Oh, and I stepped down as seneschal, too. Gods bless Darien for stepping up; I'm happy to not have that weight on my shoulders anymore.

I'll try to get the scroll scanned, and have somebody take a picture of me with the pendant. Might take me a while with the latter, though - I'm notoriously bad at getting film developed. :P

Annisa did indeed get a green leaf, if I recall correctly. A couple from Porte de L'eau got Tsvetis for hospitality, for hosting a ton of meetings and the like at their house. Umm... a few other folks got awards of arms and green leafs, but I can't remember names. I really should try to keep better track.

Film is evil. I still have rolls from 3 years ago I haven't developed. That's why I switched to digital.

I'm sorry, I was trying to get my sewing grab-bag thing done during court, so I didn't catch nearly as much as I should have.

I keep telling myself I'll switch, but I'm not up to spending the money on a digital cam while simultaneously making my nice little regular camera totally obsolete, you know? Mostly I just con digtal pics off one of my friends, but he won't be back here til September.

Yeah... I felt the same way. But when you consider that I've taken 2600 pictures since I got my digital camera for Christmas and all the money I've saved on film and development costs. And with digital prints still costing the same as regular prints... but hey, if you have a friend with a digital camer and you aren't a big photo person, I can understand that.

Oh and congratulations... I never did say that... mostly because I'm not sure what you were talking about.

There is definitely that. I'm sure I'll get one at some point, I'm just putting it off because that's what I do with expensive things. *g*

Lol - sorry about that, I didn't do the greatest job explaining, did I? Long story short, I got a service award from the big group that I'm involved in, which totally shocked me because I didn't really feel like I'd done enough to warrant an award like that. But thank you!
