wooooooooooo
Aug. 19th, 2005 10:19 pmThe almighty Metro Trip Planner says if I take the 7:02 bus I will get to the Seattle Center at 7:16. All hail the mighty Trip Planner.
Today, I survived my first full day of work at the Children's Museum, and had the shock of running into an old friend from highschool... as a customer. With her baby. Who is insanely adorable. Ohmigod. I thought it was cute when I'd heard she'd named him Samwise, but dude, so much cuter when I actually see the chubby little tiny!child zooming right past me on those wobbly little toddler legs! And Ali looks fabulous, and very much her usual old self. Yay. Must try to remember to email her soon. And saw "March of the Penguins." Horribly cute fuzzy baby penguins. So adorable.
Tomorrow is hell day. Grand opening of a new and very anticipated exhibit, with a members-only sneak peak from 8am to 10am. Hence my checking the insanely early bus routes. Yay for an almost 11-hour shift. *Dies* On the other hand, $88 in a single day. Not bad, if I'm still sane at the end of it...
Considering I'll be trading shifts as Ms. Frizzle and Liz the lizard, I rather doubt that last one. I'll be lucky if I don't panic and spontaneously lose all ability to play a part. How the hell am I supposed to interact with people if I have only a list of six things I'm allowed to say?
...Also, why is our phone ringing? It's 10:30 at night!!!

Date: 2005-08-20 06:35 am (UTC)Do you get to wear a costume? How long will the exhibit be there? Will you be there on Sunday? Maybe I'll come and bring my brother, just to see you and hear your six lines. :-D *bounces with insanity*

Date: 2005-08-21 02:58 am (UTC)I'm working admissions all day tomorrow, but I'll try to find out if they'll be having me do it again - I think they will be, probably. The only problem is you have to have an actual kid with you to get into the museum. But I'm sure if we worked out a time I might be able to go out in front of the desk for a minute for a picture, on a day I was costumed. And the poor girl who dresses as Liz, too. XD

Date: 2005-08-22 04:49 am (UTC)Ah, it sounds very challenging to come and see you in costume. I would be just as happy with a picture of you in the costume with the poor, poor girl who has to dress as Liz. That's gotta suck. So, what are the six things you get to say? Do you have fun shoes? What about your hair?
Can you tell I liked Miss Frizzle as a kid? ;-)

Date: 2005-08-20 07:48 am (UTC)Can I come here your six lines as well? Wait... that's assuming I'd actually feel like getting up tomorrow. Though, I am intruiged by this Children's Museum you speak of. Could be a photo outing... eh, who am I kidding. I'm gonna be sitting here playing games all day.

Date: 2005-08-21 03:00 am (UTC)Turns out it's okay if I say other things. "As I always say, if you want to find a frog, be a frog" only applies to so many situations, after all....

Date: 2005-08-21 03:21 am (UTC)And... I can't think of any situations in which that applies. Well, not one that would actually come up.

Date: 2005-08-20 02:57 pm (UTC)One of these days when you're going to be Ms. Frizzle I'm going to bring Faith in and visit you. Or maybe Dakota, or maybe both....

Date: 2005-08-22 01:47 am (UTC)Next Sunday evening, I'm going to pick Anne up at the train station, and if you're not busy and wouldn't mind, she would probably feel more comfortable if you would come along too.

Date: 2005-08-22 02:33 am (UTC)Okay. I'm working, I think, but that shouldn't be a problem unless we'd be picking her up before 6:15.
