1. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
Friedrich Nietzsche!
2. Where was your first kiss?
On the street in front of my mom's house, in the guy's car. It was unimpressive, and I spent most of the time wondering if it wasn't bad for him to leave his car idling so long, but it was there. ;)
3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property?
Nope.
4. Have you ever hit on someone of the opposite sex?
Yeah, I have. I'm only really good at flirting once I'm comfortable with a person, so that makes it hard... but it's still fun.
5. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people?
Many times - choir in middle school, theater, glee club, and recitals when I was in highschool, and also an a capella group in my first two years of college.
6. What's the first thing you notice about the preferred sex?
Hair and facial structure.
7. What really turns you on?
Intelligence, kindness, similar interests, musical ability, arms, shoulders, honesty... I could go on.
8. What do you order at Starbucks?
I usually don't go to Starbucks. When I do, I usually get a plain drip coffee with cream and sugar.
9. What is your biggest mistake?
Letting my temper get the better of me.
10. Ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Pinching, biting knuckles... nothing serious.
11. Say something totally random about you.
I really need to take my contacts out and go to bed.
12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
My grandma thinks I look a bit like Kate Winslet. Which is very kind of her, although I'm a bit dubious about how accurate it is.
13. Do you still watch kiddy movies or tv shows?
Every now and then. I have a weird fondness for things like "The Emperor's New Groove."
14. Did you have braces?
No. On a good day, I consider my smile a bit... 'charmingly quirky.'
15. Are you comfortable with your height?
Much as it surprises people, yes. I'm 5'3", and quite happy that way.
16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the preferred sex has done for you?
I'm not really the sort who inspires romance in most people, and I don't much mind missing out on the grand gestures if I can have the little things. Most of my favorite things involve thoughtful gifts, poetry, and understanding. One of my exes did take me out to fabulous seafood dinner and Riverdance for my birthday, so I guess that qualifies.
17. When do you know it's love?
When you can't stop thinking about someone, and when even their annoying traits don't push away the way being around them makes you feel.
18. Do you speak any other languages?
French, although I'm better at reading it than speaking it nowadays, a few phrases of Japanese, and a very fine smattering of Chinese words and phrases, horribly pronounced.
19. Have you ever been to a tanning salon?
No. I prefer my healthy Northwestern look, thanks.
20. What magazines do you read?
I used to read Jane on and off, but I got sick of it.
21. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
Hmm... Nope, don't think so.
22. Has anyone you were really close with passed away?
I'm very superstitious, so I actually very much hate this question... but no, not especially, yet. *Knocks on wood, feels a bit edgy*
23. Do you watch MTV?
Nope. Don't watch TV at all, in fact - movies, DVDs, and anime on occasion, but no normal TV.
24. What's something that really annoys you?
People who are randomly rude to service personnel.
25. What's something you really like?
Ice cream.
26. Do you like Michael Jackson?
Grew up listening to the early stuff, but he fucking creeps me out, now.
27. Can you dance?
Sort of. I can do basic swing and waltz, with a lot of training I can pick up choreography, and I've taken belly dancing lessons (although I sucked pretty majorly). Also, I'm told I don't make too horrible a fool of myself just dancing out at a club, which is kind of my friends to say. ;)
28. What's the latest you have ever stayed up?
Uhh... Lemme see. The day of my highschool graduation I got up at... oh, probably 9am, stayed up straight til 7:30 or so the next morning, slept for two hours, and flew to Hawaii, didn't sleep again til 10 or so that evening.
29. Have you ever thought that you were honestly going to die?
I'm a fairly paranoid person, but, oddly enough, no. *Knocks on wood big time*
30. Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room?
Not in an ambulance, but when I was... three, I think (?) I had an anaphalactic episode that left big welt-like bruises all up and down my legs, from no external injury at all. Still kind of a mystery, and for the longest time I wasn't allowed to have a measles vaccination because of it, since they were afraid it'd cause a recurrence of some kind. Running theory is that the cause was exposure to, of all things, a bunch of chicks and ducklings.
