I am so not feeling with the writing today. Or anything else, for that matter. Have a very strong desire to go home, curl up in bed, and refuse to move for the rest of the day, except maybe to get food, and to migrate to my computer desk and watch DVDs or something.

Today shall be blamed on the icky rainy cold weather, evil hormones, and a general feeling of "blaaaaaahhhh."

Aw, cheer up! It's almost Christmas season! Have some yummy tea and curl up with a good book.

*Laughs* I'll try. It's just one of those weird moods that attack sometimes - I'm hoping it'll pass soon.

You're right that tea might be of help, though... Tea always helps. *G*

I am well aquainted with those. :/

Tea is wonderful. Actually, the tropical blend they sell at Shigas always helps with Lenna's down moods. You may want to give that a try, as far as a perk up goes.

It's probably 80% hormonal, as usual. And I always get a little off right after daylight savings time starts (ends?), and things get darker earlier, with the weather turning cold at the same time. Just puts me a bit off for a week or so, until I get used to it again.

Pretty much any hot beverage seems to help me - a lot of times it doesn't even matter if it has caffeine or not. Must be a psychosomatic thing, I guess. Comfort food.

Date: 2005-11-03 06:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com
Yeah. This time of year gets to a lot of people. That's one good thing about no daylight savings time, the dark is gradual and natural rather than sudden.

That's good! I've always noticed with her, the tropical stuff improves her moods greatly. I've tried it once or twice, and it's done the same for me. I don't know what's in it, but it's great. There's a lot to be said for comfort food, though.

That's it exactly - it's such an abrupt change. One day, still all nice and pearly-gray when I leave my last class... and the next day it's almost pitch-black. Totally disconcerting. And the weather decided to go to shit at the same time, so it's been a double-whammy.

I might have to try that, if it makes that much of a difference. Not like I don't have about a zillion kinds of tea, but... ;)

Yeah, the abrupt change can really throw you out of whack. It was like that on Sunday, when Terra and I were coming home from Uwajis. All of a sudden so dark so early!

What's a bit more tea? And it's the nice cheap bulk stuff. :D

It's really weird. I wish they wouldn't do it - there's no reason for it in modern society! It just makes things harder on people, anyway.

True, true... mmm, bulk tea. XD

I had a couple of early mornings last week (six or seven AM) and found myself actually *wanting* daylight savings time.

I did the stay-home-in-bed-with-the-cats thing yesterday. I feel sort of guilty declaring myself "sick" over a chronic allergy, but perhaps that is silly of me.

Good point - it's definitely nice for getting up early.

Allergies suck. I have this chronic thing with my ears, particularly my right one, and it's just bad enough that I'm miserable, but not really bad enough that I feel okay about feeling miserable out it, you know? *Pats* Anyway, home-with-the-cats days are good, every now and then. ;)

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. And I think my guilt level is up because there are a couple of people on my friendslist who are sick without health insurance, so I get into this stupid "I'm sorry I actually filled my prescription!" mode.

But the doctor called me back, so maybe I'll have more drugs tomorrow :)

I know. There are still people who make their living with farms, and the whole extra hour for farming is needed. But... why not just keep it that way all year? Is a little extra light going to hurt us that much?

Mmm, bulk tea. I kind of want some now, and I don't even like tea.

And I suppose that the earlier light is a good thing. But for crying out loud, it's not exactly convenient for those of us who are out later in the evening!

Me too. I may have to have a second cup of tea before I go to my last class, I'm feeling decidedly sleepy at the moment.

tea is great, there is this stuff that i get from this crazy little eccentric store in melbourne (Australia)and the tea tastes like it had been flown in express from fairyland. i mean this seriously, it tastes that good. it has rose hip in i think. but whenever i need to write it's always with a pot of tea.

actually, now i have to go worship my teapot. i have a thing for novelty teapots, i have this one shaped like a banana and another shaped like a leaf.

Tea is a requirement for writing, totally - or at least hot chocolate, or something like that. I've got this coffee-substitute stuff that I really like, it's made of roasted bran and grains, so it's caffeine free, meaning I can drink it whenever I want that taste without getting all hyped up. Very comforting in the evenings.

Awww, the leaf one sounds really pretty! I have a gorgeous Japanese set a friend got me last year, but I'm always too afraid to use it. Silly, since it means it just sits up in a closet in a box. I really ought to use it.

japanese green tea, the real stuff (bitter frothy and green like a leprechauns underwear) is the best stuff if you have a cold. and i love japanese tea sets, i collect them. i have about 30 teapots in total.

my god, i am so turning into a crazy tea pot lady, like a crazy cat lady only much cleaner and without the fur problems :P

I'm a bit weenie when it comes to green tea - I like the more western-style stuff, with a bit less bitterness to it, but someday I'll have to try the real deal, just to say I've done it.

I manage to be a crazy-cat-lady-in-training with only a single cat, so I can only imagine what would happen if I had more than only the one. Tea sets at least tend not to demand attention the way cats do. ;)

I know how you feel, I have a cold that has been "stalking" me for the past few days and I'm trying to fight it off, today, I feel it may be getting the better of me though. I shall however continue my valiant fight! ;D UGH. Feel better soon, Sweety!

Hehehehe. Hopefully you can scare it off soon, then. I'm feeling better, just debating the grad school info session I was supposed to go to tonight - it's from 5:30 to 7:30, if I recall, and I'd really like to just go home after the class that goes til 5:30, so I can get work done. I've been late almost every night this week, and I have a take-home midterm that desperately needs to get done for next Tuesday. So probably no info session for me, sadly.

Yeah, probably better to go home and take care of yourself and get stuff done on the take-home, less stress later. Brrr, I think I'm going to go amke some tea or postem, maybe postem. Have a good evening and try to stay warm in that big old house, ok? Snuggle witht he fuzzy boy, and give him a SMOOCH from Grandma ;D

Seems like the ickies are going around lately...I've been feeling then a bit, and a friend of mine is even worse. And another NaNo guy got stalled out today because he's sick. I hope you're feeling better!

Hope you don't mind that I friended you...I saw you on one of the Firefly communities and noticed that you were also doing NaNoWriMo. If you don't mind me asking, what's your name on the NaNo site? I'd love to see what you're doing...

I'm feeling much better, now, thanks. Like you said, it seems like this is the time of year for the ickies all around, so hopefully we'll all be past them soon!

Don't mind at all, I've been hoping for more Firefly friends! I'm Rosalindjen at NaNoWriMo, and I'm hoping to get an excerpt posted once I get far enough into the swing of things that I don't think every word sounds strange. I've been writing for Firefly so much lately that switching to a pseudo-medieval setting is giving me some serious problems. ;)

And that shows how spaced out I was last night -- I forgot to tell you! :)

I'm "Avalonian" over at the NaNo site...look forward to reading your excerpt! I know what you mean about every word sounding strange...I'm just starting to get past that point meself.
