Several interesting little bits of news have come to me over the past days, in which some of you might be interested. Don't hurt me if they're wrong.....

Sarah Mclachlan is putting out a new...... cookbook. *Sighs* Well, technically there's another rumor that a new album is due out in November, but the cookbook is a certainty. Why I would care about a cookbook when all I really want is to hear her sing, I don't know. But there it is.

Evanescence is playing at Bumbershoot. If anybody's going, please let me know so I can add that information to my fussings about whether or not to go. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door for the whole day, and the concert is Sunday night at 8:30ish, at one of the big stages.

But the one that takes the cake is this:

Tim Burton has announced that he's going to do a remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, due for release in 2005. This wouldn't be that odd (not at all, really, if you think about Roald Dahl's books...), except for the fact that I was awakened this morning by the commentators on my radio saying that he'd supposedly chosen Johnny Depp as Willy Wanka. o.O Must say, that threw me for a minute. Maybe it's just a rumor..... But.... god, he'd do well, wouldn't he? The man can do *anything*.

Also, what's the sudden fascination with J.M. Barrie and Peter Pan? It just cropped out of nowhere, and suddenly there's a new version of Peter Pan coming out *and* a movie about the author and the experiences that led to the writing (starring, just so you know how I found this out, Johnny Depp, of course.)

Hidalgo, Troy, J.M. Barrie's Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.... I foresee a very long, strange series of movies coming up to which I'll be saying "oh dear.... this is bizarre, but I must go see it...."

*Nods* I hear there's a discount of some kind if you buy them at Starbucks, too, but I'm not sure how much....

It's the same discount, I think. Starbucks is one of Bumbershoot's "ticket outlets."
