So, the oft-ignored local football team, the Seattle Seahawks, have finally - for the first time in their 30-year history - made it to the Super Bowl. Go them.

Perhaps this means that stupid sportscasters everywhere in the U.S. will quit making asinine jokes like saying that my beloved city is in "southern Alaska or something." Screw you, bastards. I hope we kick everybody's asses, just so the rest of the country remembers that Seattle is not the middle of fecking nowhere. *Grumbles*

Yeah, it was pretty cool. I didn't watch the game (watched a couple good movies instead, while doing laundry), by my daughter kept me up to date, and I'm sure a lot of my co-workers will be delirious tomorrow.

One of my housemates does web-design for a chain of sports memorabilia stores (ironically, she knew zilch about sports before starting and isn't a local), so we had to keep track - it meant whether or not we'd be walking her to the store to update the webpage.

After being a fan of the Hawks from the VERY beginning, I'm glad they have finally gotten their chance at the Superbowl, even though I have lost my interest in them over the last few years. GO HAWKS!

He was badass and very sweet. I got to walk him to his car a couple times after games. And Jen and his son had surgery in the same hospital (Children's) at the same time, so we got to talk about that. Yup, I was a stalker.

Nope, only on Tuesdays and Thursdays - I just have long work-shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Grow up in Arkansas, and then when you go to graduate school and people are surprised you know what a bagel is (oh, hey Clinton was President then too)....then you can complain. Not just anyone....other graduate students. Or when they ask you "Is it pronounced ARE kin saw or AR kan suss?" Or when they notice that yeah, I am wearing shoes. How 'bout that.

Then peopole would ask me if I know Clinton because we're both from Arkansas and things would get a little weird.
