Things appear to be stupid this morning. Things like lecture, spam email, and my cellphone. Why my cellphone? Because it did that "I'm working great and I have 100% of my battery filled! Oh, wait, actually I'm DEAD" thing again this morning. Literally. 6:40 this morning it rang like it's supposed to for my 'warning' alarm (the one that gets me out of bed, 'cause I have to turn it off)... but by 8am when I checked it at the bus-stop, it had turned itself off and won't respond to anything I do to it. I would really like to know why that happens.

Oh, and my right wrist is being supremely fucky. Yet another mystery of my life that just crops up again and again.

In other news, it looks like I've got another busy week shaping up. There's talk of going out for beers and jazz at Romio's across the bridge on Thursday night, and on Friday night I'm maybe going to skip the ADP and head out to Phinney Ridge (which is actually not so far away, it turns out, from looking at a map...) to a contra dancing thing the local Browncoats group is meeting at. Because, hey, I like dancing, and I need to get out more. *Wibbles nervously* Local folks, is anybody interested in coming along?

Contra is fun (even though I suck)! But we'll be at Kingdom A&S. Any chance you'll make this week's Greenspires or business/ charter-painting meeting?

I'm sure I will suck royally, considering how I suck at every other form of dance known to man. But I enjoy it, so I don't mind being awful at it as long as no one else minds!

Have fun at A&S! I'll check the calendar - I really ought to be able to make Greenspire, considering how close it is, but whether or not I actually remember to go would be another situation. I'll try! (And then I can maybe pass off the darned banner to you, finally!)

Greenspires is tonight, and Bunstable meeting is Wednesday. (Of course, you could always leave the banner with CT or Brian in the EE building . . .)

I could, and I probably will if I can't make it to one or the other meeting this week. But I'd like to try and at least stop by to see people, even if I can't work out staying for all of either. :)

Greenspires tonight was kinda weird, since a blood drive took our space. Hope to see you Wed.!

Gah! I was feeling guilty that I crapped out, but maybe it's for the best, then! I'll try to at least pop by during the meeting (7:30 still, right?) or something. If I crap out it's not because I don't want to see you guys, I just have work from 11:30-5 or so on Wednesdays and have a reeeeally hard time fighting the 'oh dear god I want to go home' impulse. :P

Yeah, 7:30, 2nd floor HUB lobby, moving into our room as soon as the previous people leave.

We could try to lure you by having tea or dinner between meeting and work? Before-meeting stuff has lapsed recently, but that could change . . .

[wait, this is my day job! geek on] Either the battery is having problems keeping a charge or the battery contacts are having a problems connecting to the phone, or the phone is having an electronic problem and is sucking the battery dry, or the contacts on the phone are having problems keeping to the battery. (Non-jargon: IE, either something is dying, or they are having problems talking.)

Troubleshooting steps:
-Plug it in. If it turns back on, it's probably the battery.
-Remove and replace the battery. If this fixes it, it's probably an issue with the contacts. Make sure nothing is broken or worn, and clean with a clean pencil eraser.
-Try swapping the battery into another same-model phone (I realize this is probably going to be difficult since you are away from the rest of the group) and see whether the issue follows the battery or the phone.

If the issue persists, I'd get a hold of the account owner (your dad?) and have him contact your provider about replacement options. Cell phones are like any other electronic device and get old and worn out, too. Although nothing works all of the time (including devices and network coverage), it's best to lower the odds of not having service so when you have an emergency.

There's also a change it's just getting jostled and the battery is slipping loose. Cell phones go through a lot of movement, whether we are talking on them or not.

The last time I had the problem, I plugged it onto the cradle at the end of the day and five minutes later it was fine. So I guess that probably means it's the battery thing... but other than these occasional moments of stupidity, it holds a charge just fine. So maybe the jostling, too? I carry it in my coat pocket, along with keys and other assorted junk, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case....

Thank you for your professional expertise! ;)

I hope you have fun dancing! Just watch River's dance scene from Bushwhacked a few times and you'll be in great shape.

Too bad I'm not only not a trained prima ballerina, but am also possessed of two feet that don't like to learn dance steps very well. It's still fun, though! ;)
