not the best of mornings
Apr. 6th, 2006 10:14 amThis morning when I woke up, I felt fine. Five minutes later, roiling stomach/lower abdomen cramps. I spent fifteen minutes curled up on the bed trying to wait it out, then dragged myself upstairs for advil and water (as always when something like this strikes, my mouth was thick, dry, nasty-feeling). Spent another half hour on the couch with my cat snuggled up against my head before I felt well enough to email work that I was going to be late, and go about my morning routine. Still feeling 'bleh' on and off, in the sense of nauseated and a little dizzy.
I don't know what to make of it - these stupid little fits have been happening since I was a teenager, but the stomach cramps are a new addition, as of this last year. It used to just be dizzy and feverish for half an hour or so, almost always in the morning, then gone. And it always used to be the first day of my cycle. Lately, it's been the week before, and sometimes a fun little encore the day of. :/
Anyway, back to trying to pound out the rough draft of my movie review for peer review in English today. Fun.

Date: 2006-04-06 11:23 pm (UTC)Still, you're right that I probably ought to bring it up the next time I have a physical. Which I ought to schedule pretty soon, so hopefully it'll still be on my mind.
I am feeling a lot better, thanks - it was mostly just that first 45 minutes that sucked majorly. I've been a little nauseated on and off during the day, but I've also heard of a lot of people I know having a mild flu lately... hopefully I'm not coming down with it. *Crosses fingers and drinks lots of herbal tea*
