Crawled into bed at 10 last night, made a nest of all my blankets, and slept like the dead until 7:05. Still feeling a little sicky, but it appears to be moving nicely through the nasal passage and hopefully on its way out. 'Cause you all clearly needed to know that.

Had my optometrist appointment last night, followed by dinner with [livejournal.com profile] narsilion and shoe-shopping. Folks who know me in person know that I'm one of those really weird people who will attempt to drag out as long as humanly possible on a given pair of shoes, but many of mine were at the point where even I was willing to admit they were pretty much dead. So I have a new pair of day-to-day shoes (red and white, very pretty little trainers), and a new pair of athletic shoes. Yay on that last bit especially, since I haven't been able to go to the IMA lately because of lacking said athletic shoes. I'm not feeling up to it today, but next week is looking good. XD

And tonight, I'm going to 'reward' myself for a busy week well-handled by doing my taxes (ugh, but necessary), and then writing and making a few icons! I've got some requests, and some ideas that are niggling at me as well. So that should be a good way to spend an evening.

I have a pair of brown moccasins that are about to die. They're leather, so they have sort of stretched out, and I tend to walk out of them. In fact, my feet are rarely completely in them. But they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned...So I've been putting off buying new ones for ages.

Oh yeah, I know how that is. I had a pair of sandals that I wore completely to death - to the point where the sole was worn down to nothing but the leather covering in parts, and where I joked that if I ever needed to see a podiatrist, I could just take the sandal in and they'd have everything they needed to know about my feet and how I walk.

Alas, they finally went to the great shoe closet in the sky a few years ago. ;) I haven't found another pair quite like them since.
