Apparently, Winamp was tired of me griping about how often it messes up when it's on random setting - it just read my mind. I had Kasey Chamber's "Pretty Enough" in my head, I turned on Winamp, hit random... and it popped right up. o_O

I had a busy Sunday - brunch with narsilion and that side of the family, and then straight over to my dad's to hang out with him and my stepmom and all and have dinner. It was great seeing everybody - I don't see either side of my family often enough, lately. And I finally got to see King Kong! May I just say - how gorgeous is Adrien Brody? Too gorgeous. And how much do I love Fran, Philippa, and PJ. ♥ Fran and Philippa's fingerprints were all over that script, and it was great to see them bring their particular light to that story... and of course I had a lot of fun with the classic PJ moments (seeing Lord of the Rings as many times as I have apparently makes it really easy for me to predict the kinds of shots PJ will go for), and the oh-so-perfect WETA effects. So very much pretty. And also so very much "let's see if we can jam every possible phobia someone might have into a 20-minute segment!!!" I laughed my head off at the centipedes, didn't care one way or another about the bugs, and snickered quite a bit over the bats... the leeches were a bit much for me, but more in a "oh god, this isn't gonna be good" kind of sense than "ohmigodI'mgonnhavenightmaresnow." They were really pretty cool looking until... well. Until.

And the dinosaurs were fecking awesome. I will say, though - the stampede? Is it just me, or was that the Mumakil Stampede Version 2.0? And the gates looked oddly familiar to me... maybe I'm just seeking similarity where there is none, though. Either way, I loved every minute of it.

ETA: Wow. Thank you, narsilion!!! I now have a paid account until June!!! Icon-space! And also a more customizable LJ, which means I really need to figure out custom layouts - anybody know how to do those? I have no idea what sort of image sizes or coding I need to use, but I'm determined to make use of this while I have it!

Awesome, thanks! I'll take a look around and see what kind of style I want, then mess around with graphics for a bit and get something worked up, and then maybe you can show me what to do, if you have time. XD

Now, I'm not able to do some of your more crazy fancy layout styles (and I do mainly in S1 -- S2 customization takes CSS knowledge I don't have), because I'm one of those picky people who wants their livejournal to work in all browsers on both the mac and PC -- so I end up just mainly using the base styles LJ gives you and messing with the code until I like it. ^^ But yes -- I'll take a look at what you come up with and see what I can do with it :D

You're welcome. ;D I wanted to try the paid account for a couple months and see just how much a difference it ade, and I wasn't sure if you had ever tried it before, so I thought if you hadn't, you might like to try it also.
Besides, it's just a small thanks for all the wonderful icons you've done for me, and all the pretties you do on my computer for me whenever you come over.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Wouldn't mind seeing it again sometime, but you should definitely see it. There's some oogie bits, but they're not really all that bad. Just be glad you don't have a bug phobia. And cover your eyes when the leeches show up.

...You're over that bat thing, right? 'Cause there's some honking big bats, too. With really silly out-there vampire-bat type faces. XD

But you'll really like Kong, and I think you'll think the ship's captain is hot. I did. *g* Also, because it bears repeating, Adrien Brody is gorgeous.

Ah, you found the icon-maker thing! Good! I meant to tell you about it, but I forgot. :P

Basically it's just 30 icons (yay!) and more ability to customize my journal itself. A few other things that I probably won't use too much, although the storage space will be nice (for posting icons for people, mostly). I'm veeeeeery happy.

Any icons you want, just tell me! And I could try to make you a new desktop, too, if you want... I'm not so good at those, yet, but I'm still practicing.

I did find the icon thing, it was fun, and I enjoy the fact that I can upload pictures to live journal now. Did I send you the pictures from yesterday? I can't remember.

Thanks! I had one quite a while ago, as a gift from another friend, but this time I think I'm actually up to really making use of it. I'm hoping for much icon-making in my future. ;)
