I also didn't get the meaning in the last line, but it was a wonderful fic. I love Inara and Zoe, they're great, and I think that Mal really would start out worried that Zoe would bite her head off, then be angry (jealous) when Inara is actually able to help her. I love the line about letting Jayne run the ship for a while just to see how he does! O.o
