1) This is the 1st of September, what do you want to accomplish by the31st? 30th Well, I want this damned trade show I'm setting up for work to go off well, and I want to register for a yoga class and possibly a GRE prep class this fall. Also, I'd love to have some progress on my original writing.
2) What does September make you think about or feel? Holy crap, I'm not going to be in school again in the month. Cue panic.
3) September is the ninth month; can you name nine memories so far from this year? The Halloween party last October, Jessie moving in after we finally got rid of The Roommate From Hell, any number of nights at Rusty Pelican with as many friends as we could cram into a table (it's like old times!), actually getting compliments on my dancing at Contra, finding out my dumb cat had been in the backyard the whole time when I thought I'd lost him, Kendra and I dragging out the ladder from the side of the house so we could climb up and eat early plums, discovering that I just didn't give a damn about my most troublesome (read: the one I couldn't get over) ex-boyfriend anymore, seeing whales, and, oh yeah, seaplane.
4) What does September have in common with three other months and can you name them? September and March have the two equinoxes, September and October are the months I associate the most with autumn, and... are these supposed to be right-answer type questions? October is another number-month, in that case. And... umm... damn. Hell, I don't know.
5) The first weekend in September signals the end of summer for many even though it doesn’t really end for weeks. When does summer end for you? 'Officially,' summer ended a month ago for me. But I still have the unconscious attitude typical to an American recently in the school system - summer ends when the yellow schoolbuses start doing their morning jaunts around the neighborhood.And I'm going to cry when the UW starts up again without me.
