Dear brain:

On top of the list of Things that Don't Help with NaNoWriMo? Getting obsessed with a whole new fic-bunny that insists on throwing itself to the fore of my brain. Especially since it requires research. Probably fairly extensive research, because it's not the kind of thing that one can just... pop onto the internet or flip open a book and find.

...Curse you, Joss Whedon. At least the last time you got me off on one of these kicks, it required relatively minimal library foot-work. ...........Who am I kidding? I love the library footwork. That's a good part of why this is happening, anyway. *Headdesk*

Today, a jaunt to Phinney Ridge! [livejournal.com profile] coramegan, I don't know about the rest of the house, but I'm up, if you need to call to do plannies. Last time I checked, we didn't know what time we were getting together... though I admit that was before people got home from the showing and such.

...hmm... *looks at icon* Yeah.... tea....

Any peaks under the tent at your fic bunny?

At the moment, I'm working on three fics in three different fandoms - a secret ficathon request for Babylon 5, a Buffy fic with Giles, and the next chapter of "Shore Leave," my big scary unending Firefly fic with the crew hiding out on Jayne's homeworld. That one's still going slowly, but I'm finally getting to some of the really fun bits that originally sparked the idea, so I'm happy with my progress!

I was really enjoying "Shore Leave" -- I do hope you continue it! It's good.

It'll get finished eventually, I just tend to get distracted easily. I'm hoping to have the next chapter up before New Year's - I tend to make that my deadline for projects that have been in progress for a long time. Helps me finish off the year with a bang, so to speak. ;)
