want laptop now, plz
Feb. 6th, 2007 11:07 amPlease let my power cable come today or tomorrow. Please.
I really really really really really want to be able to write on my laptop on my days off. It's been fricking freezing downstairs, and that really (how many times can I use that word in one post?) impairs my desire to write. And my ability to write as well, because my fricking fingers fricking freeze when I do it for very long.
Please? Power cable? I ordered it on Friday... Come on, Dell. Be good!
I will stop whining, now. But damn do I have a lot of writing that I'm supposed to be doing, and it's just not getting done like it ought to. *Whines*
Must go get ready for another busy day at the place no customers come to in the middle of the quarter. Working textbooks is like being a fireman (sort of) - a lot of waiting around, and then a rush where everybody thinks you're the line between life and death. The difference, of course, being that as a textbook seller it's only life and death in the minds of the customers. :P
Speaking of firemen, it is unfair that there are fireman calendars, but no calendars for other professions. I have long said that the world needs a 'hot librarians' sort of calendar. Having seen Kari's two (two!) firemen calendars, I reaffirm this statement. It's necessary! Not all of us get off on big tan, muscle-y men with axes and suspenders, you know. Some of us rather go for the skinny intellectual types, particularly if they're posing with piles of big old books. So there. Everybody's got their type... mine's just not a very standard one.

Date: 2007-02-06 08:19 pm (UTC)If Dell says on their site they guarantee same day shipping, that means your shipment went out Friday. It wouldn't have gone anywhere Sat or Sun, If it's coming from in-state, you might get it soon.
If they don't guarantee same-day, that means your order might not have even been processed until this morning, and would not go out until yesterday. :\
I'm sure Dell is more streamlined, but that's a fairly standard shipping expectation, I feel. >->

Date: 2007-02-07 05:39 am (UTC)Dell's pretty damned awesome about shipping, honestly - they send you an email to notify when your order has been processed, and another to notify when the part has shipped (which I got on Saturday). So I knew it was going to be sometime this week - I just really didn't want to get it on Saturday, when I wouldn't be able to appreciate it as much.
