Apr. 11th, 2007 12:42 amCurrent word-count on the Fic of Doom:
23,808 words.
And I still have a fair bit to write before I hit the ending. Not to mention the epilogue that ambushed me the other day... This thing is such a monster. It'd figure that I finally get past my issues with long-form work in a fic that originally started as nothing more than a stupid plot device...
Also, a quick FYI for the house-folks - I'm working late tomorrow night because we're really short on the evening shift this week thanks to another guy transferring to another department. So don't panic - I'll be home at 9!

Me? I'm getting ready to start the SCIENCE! portion of my science fiction story, and it's freaking me out. I am a history nerd, not a science/math nerd, so why, why did I decided to base my alien technology on string theory? Whyyyyyy?

Date: 2007-04-11 06:04 pm (UTC)That's the problem with sci-fi... it tends to spin out in all sorts of fun ways. Don't worry, though - you can always have someone who knows about that kind of stuff go over the manuscript later. Or just, you know... rely on the fact that most sci-fi is more or less scientifically implausible anyway. ;)
