thought computer was fixed when i got home. then it did same thing again once i relaxed. seems to be completely random.

just bought new computer off dell's outlet site. am now panicking to some extent. but was a very good deal. still kind of going 'ack.' and... y'anno... not using caps. 'cause... random computer shut-down very off-putting.

six years is a good run for a computer. it was bound to start dying soon. even if i'd been able to fix this... of course now it seems fine. but... yeah.

ack.

Edit: Oh, sure! Right now you'll let me use the shift key all I want! But you're not fooling me, computer - as soon as I start to trust you again, you'll do the exact same thing as last time - I'll innocently hit 'shift' and it'll all be over. Again. As soon as I least expect it.

There's no more trust in this relationship. I have to go. We'll always have Paris. Or at least Livejournal. I'll have someone new in my life soon... someone shiny and new. Sure, it'll be hard. But we'll have a two-year warranty to try to make it work. So... there.

I'm going to go play with my laptop. He still loves me.

...At least I hope he does.

Actually, 6 years is pretty good... computers start wigging out about then anyway, so... oh well!

Yeah, six years isn't bad at all. Although counting in the number of times I had to wipe the hard drive and re-install the OS... ah, computers. ;)

(Sorry it took so long to reply - I've been having so much trouble with the home computer that I've pretty much given up on it for typing.)

Considering I manage to kill a computer about every 2 years, I'd say 6 years is an exceptional run!

Enjoy the new one :D

Ha ha ha! I agree with the comment above, 2 years and I usually have some crazy life changing, info obliterating computer experience. Luckily last time it just required a wipe.

I'd say six years is pretty good. Plus, shiny new baby is always fun!

A new computer!!!!
WHEE!!!!
I hope you got one with LOTS of graphics goodies. When is it due to come (hopefully on your days off so you can play with it)
Probably now this weeks days off though, huh?
I'm so excited for you, I totally understand the nervous though. It'll be great!
I'll be out of town tomorrow and Friday,
I'm going to Spokane, I'll be back Saturday
early, and of course can be reached on the cell.
We should get together soon.
Did you have a Happy May Day?

The graphics goodies are all the stuff I have to add on myself (the program I use, all that), but this computer should be able to handle the program much better than my old one can. Supposedly it'll be here between this Friday and next Tuesday.

If I have trouble getting the delivery guy to bring it while I'm at home (or let the roommates sign for it), I might have to ask you to drive me somewhere to pick it up. I'm hoping it'll just come Friday so that I don't have trouble.

I guess I did - I'm kind of sick right now, but I'm getting by. Just a sinus/allergy/cold type thing, with added hormone stuff. Joy. :P

Have fun in Spokane! Hopefully I can see you sometime after you get back.

No luck yet - I have a horrible feeling they're going to try to deliver it on Monday, just as soon as I've gone to work. :P So I probably will have to take you up on your offer to drive me out to get it, unless they're smart enough to actually try before 11:30.

I'm starting to feel better - I had a horrible headache yesterday, but I went to bed early and now I'm feeling a bit more human.

I'm glad you had fun in Spokane!
