rivendellroseUgh. Have two papers (both 800-1000 words) due wednesday morning at 8:30.... and I absolutely can't seem to get more than a tiny little start on them. I'm just so distracted, and tired of working on this class. I'm really unhappy with all of this. I can't wait until I'm back to taking English classes... I always have a much better understanding of what I'm supposed to be doing in those. I mean... maybe I'm just a little burned out, is all. I can't wait for spring break.
Bought some books today; used copies of both Harry Potter and The Hobbit. The Hobbit is a nice old hard-cover copy that looks exactly like the copy I read the first time, if I remember correctly. I know it has the same illustrations. That made me happy. And the Harry Potter is just one of the nice new little paperback ones... hardly looks like it'd been opened before, and I got it for $3.50. Which makes up for the bit extra I spent on the old copy of The Hobbit. Also bought two new t-shirts and two new blouses at Buffalo Exchange... generally an expensive day, but delightful since I spent it wandering the Ave with Bethany.
Will get up early and do essays tomorrow. Really will. Promise self.
Plenty of ideas for story... but no time to work on it. The first one I'm having some serious doubts about... I don't think I'm getting the characters right. And I'm afraid the same will happen with the second, but I've not gotten far enough to know, yet. We'll see what happens. I need to practice lots if I'm ever going to get good, and I worry that even that might not be enough......... Oh, well. Nothing better to do than to try. *Screws face into determined expression.*
Anyway... going to bed (or at least to read) now.
