I may (or may not? I'm not actually sure...) have inadvertently let my UW Alumni Association membership lapse, but that doesn't mean I don't love my university.
UW physics rofessor to continue his research in "retrocausality" (AKA "transactional interpretation of quantum mechanics") via public donations. This is the guy who keeps getting touted as researching "time travel" - he's actually looking into the fairly well-documented phenomena of quantum particles seeming to 'communicate' instantaneously no matter how far apart they are in space. No less a figure than Richard Feynman thought this was a worthy subject of research... and my someone from my university is going after it!
This makes me happy. I can't wait to see how his experiments come out. At the very least, it's good to see people supporting the sciences. As one of the donors remarks in this article, with all the terrible things that our government keeps throwing money at, lately, I'm pleased to see people pitching in toward better goals.
(Incidentally,
ratzeo and other UW folks - I don't suppose anybody knows Professor Cramer? I never worked with many of the physics profs, myself.)

Date: 2007-06-14 11:18 pm (UTC)Turns out his thyroid isn't working up to par. He's going to be on the gel that you massage into their ears. It has to be sent to me, I guess they make it according to the cats blood work? Something like that anyway.
He saw a really nice (and thorough) vet, Remus is going in next, just to check up on him. Snape weighs 15 1/2lbs! She said he's not fat though, just a big kitty.
I hope your week is going well. What are you and Dad doing Sunday?
