busy weekend, but in a good way

maymargaret and I went out to a kind of swank little bar near our place, just to hang out and enjoy the "thank god the week's over" vibe, ended up chatting for a few hours with a semi-neighbor, and then, as we were leaving, this guy jumps up and taps my shoulder. Not, as I figured, because I'd done something dumb like forgotten my wallet at the bar (which I didn't!) but to actually ask me out. Just like that - just randomly. So now I'm reading an email from him and sort of giggling stupidly, because... I don't get this kind of thing often. I have to enjoy while I have it.
...Especially 'cause I'm half convinced that once we actually spend more than two seconds talking it will become clear that we have nothing in common, which will be sad because this guy's actually pretty cute, if completely not my usual type. But hey - an actual date!
Anyway. On Saturday I found a gorgeous coral-colored dress for $15. Its zipper was all messed up, but I was going to buy it anyway... but then I mentioned to the clerk about the zipper, and he gave it to me for a dollar. And then, when we got home, it turned out that Kendra was able to fix the zipper in, like, five minutes, so that was just all kinds of perfect. The thing fits me like a glove. ♥ After that, off tozinjadu's party, where I got completely slaughtered in a D20 modern zombie game and ate much cake and pizza and got to see all the usual crew, which was wonderful as always.
And Sunday we saw Great Big Sea live at Woodland Park. I love those guys. Seriously, they're completely awesome in concert - so funny and fantastically energetic and fun. Had a complete blast, even if the merchandise table was totally ransacked by the time we got there (and anyway, they only took cash, which I did not have). I can get their CDs cheaper at Cellophane Square, anyway, and I'm sure they sell t-shirts and such off their website, so there. :P
So that was my weekend. And I just got a huge bunch of chilies in the last bite of my Vietnamese sandwich, so I'm going to go fan out my mouth, now... while I try to compose some kind of response to that email. *g*
