Can't brain today, I have the dumb. Seriously, though... my mind is mush. I even got plenty of sleep last night... no thanks to my cat, who seems to think that since I won't let him play with my lamp cord, it'd be a great idea to, instead, streeeeetch up to his full height and steal my glasses right off my dresser. He got locked out of the bedroom for that, thankyouverymuch.

Can't stop thinking of fic I want to be writing. Can't seem to concentrate on work. Haven't even had enough caffeine to be able to blame this, and additionally have had caffeine so cannot blame the lack of it, either.

I blame the fact that it's Thursday.

Does anybody know any good sites/resources for researching early 1950s London? I desperately need this for a fic.

Um. The thing you said. Me too.
And if you find good historical sites please feel free to pass them on.

I'm not doing a lot of writing for fifties London, *at this very minute*. (: But I know I'm constantly bumping into questions in my writing--"Did they have *blah* at this point? How common was it? What about in the western US?" You know the stuff.
So having a database available in case of emergency or sudden plot bunny would be a good thing.
Actually, what I'd prefer would be a team of on-call historians anthropologists archaeologists aeronautics engineers physicists linguists and Jeopardy champions for online queries.

Hee! You think you can't brain now?
Just wait till you get to be my age.
You'll have days you won't believe could be real! :D
How did that lamp work out, by the way. It looked pretty on your dresser, but does it give you enough light to read by?

Eagh, if it gets worse from here I don't want to think about it.... I can only hope they've perfected medications for that sort of thing by the time I get to that point. :P

It's really pretty! It's not hugely bright, but bright enough still for reading and writing, and it makes the room very comfy and peaceful-looking. It also tends to help me get sleepy, which is fantastic.

Also I forgot to ask, are you going to Bumbershoot?

No Bumbershoot for me - it's just too busy, and there weren't any bands this year that I willing to go to all that trouble to see. ;)

You?
