Gacked from
nekokoban because I'm sleepy and braindead. Or something. :P
Six Pairings I Like:
1. Doctor/Tardis (Doctor Who, and stop looking at me like I'm crazy...)
2. Romana/Doctor (Doctor Who)
3. Sarah/Harry (Doctor Who... can you guess my newest fandom?)
4. Mal/Inara (Firefly!)
5. Snape/Lupin (Harry Potter... though I haven't written it in ages)
6. Giles/Jenny (Buffy, and yes, I know I'm living in the past...)
Three Ships I've Abandoned:
(For the sake of expedience, we'll just go with "pairings from fandoms I no longer actively read and/or write in," 'cause honestly, I'm incapable of actually giving up on pairings. And fandoms, for that matter... XD)
7. Garak/Bashir (DS9)
8. Scully/Mulder (X-Files)
9. Lucius/Narcissa (Harry Potter)
Three Ships I've Never Liked:
10. Giles/Buffy (Buffy, obviously, and eew)
11. Sirius/Snape (HP
12. Harry/anybody (HP)
Two Ships That Have Piqued My Interest:
13. Master/Doctor (really, I think of this as Master-->Doctor, but either way)
14. ...umm.... okay, I'll admit a mild fascination with Romana/Sarah (Doctor Who).
#1. Why do you dislike #11 so much?
I really don't get off on the "_____ is so mean to _____ it must be sekrit lurve" pairings. If they act like they hate each other and are as mean to each other as those two are (because can you say cruel?), I'm totally not interested. Too abusive. Bleh.
#2. Who do you know that ships #13?
Conveniently,
nekokoban! That was easy. XD
#3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?
Awww... they're such a doomed couple in some ways, but they're just so cute! Sorry, gushing. Okay, my ideal would probably be contemporary era, with the assumption that they've been on-and-off for the last 30 years or so, and eventually just... settling into / being convinced into an actual, solid relationship. They know each other too well for anything dramatic, and that's part of the charm.
#4. What is your favorite moment for #1?
...It had to be that one, didn't it? Umm. Okay, fine - how about when the Doctor gives a decade off his life to resurrect her? That's romantic in any scenario. ;)
#5. How long have you been following couple #6?
About a year, I think. I came late to Buffy.
#6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop caring?
Oh, I'd never really stop caring about the characters, but I got sick of the series after David Duchovny left, and never went back to it. They should've stopped while they were ahead, in my humble opinion.
#7. Which ship do you prefer--#2 or #4?
Awwwwwwww, do I really have to pick? But they're both so snarky and mutually-arrogant and secretly, desperately fond of each other! Okay, fine - I guess I like Mal/Inara better. It's a loyalty thing. ♥
#8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
Well, erasing 12 from existence would pretty much erase a good chunk of the shipping wank from HP fandom, but I suppose it's not the ship's fault that I absolutely can't find a teenage boy at all interesting in a romantic sense. So I choose to erase #10, because it wigs me on a "but she's like a daughter to him!" level.
#9. What interests you about #14?
I'm going to assume this means other than the fact that they're both gorgeous and interesting. I suppose I'm most interested in seeing how they would interact together - they're both very intelligent, powerful, impressive women in their own right, and both of them have histories tied up with the same person, about whom they both felt quite strongly. Besides, I think both of them would find the other very compelling (despite not wanting to be interested!).
#10. When did you stop liking #7?
I think the most I can say about this is that I've written everything I wanted to write between them, and the series has been over for... well, a long time. I haven't stopped liking them, there's just nothing left for me to put into it, I think.
#11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the series?
Not in the slightest. Actually, my interest in Narcissa was one of the things that kept me paying attention to the series up to the end - her and all the other characters I'd 'adopted' back in the RP days. More than anything, my waning interest comes out of the fact that the last book proved me right on most aspects of her character, so I don't feel like I have anything to prove any more. XD
#12. What's a song that reminds you of #5?
Gotta be something by Lifehouse... I can't think of exactly which one right now, though. It's been a while since I've written that pairing. As a sort of compensation, "Runaway Train" always reminds me of young Snape, which reminds me of them.
#13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
Oh, that's just not fair. XD Probably Romana/Doctor, because I'm in the middle of writing three different fics that involve that pairing.
#14. Which do you dislike the most?
See above comments about Giles/Buffy. Bleh.
#15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
Are we talking double date, or threesome? Or, for that matter, foursome? Because either Harry/Sarah/Doctor/Tardis or Romana/Doctor/Sarah would be wonderful. And really, it'd be so easy to set up! ♥
#16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if yes.
Errrr... we're talking canon, right? Then no.
#17. Did #4 have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely?
Kind-of-but-not-really, because Joss is a mean person.
#18. What would make you start shipping #14?
There was this fic. And now I cannot remember either the author or the location or anything, but I saw it listed... and I thought "damn, that's crazy!" And then I read it because, seriously, how could I resist two of the mostgorgeous compelling characters in old Who together? And it was lovely. And so I started Thinking About It More Seriously.
#19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer--#2 or #6?
If I could wrestle them away from Joss and drop them off in a universe that might be nice to them for a little while, I'd say Giles and Jenny (er... #6). Because I just felt too awful about how that happened in canon, whereas the non-shippy with #2 is perfectly nice on its own, without them ever getting together.
#20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?
Well, I'd love to cut out the whole Giles randomly leaving in the sixth and seventh seasons thing, if that's an option, but beyond that I'd leave their relationship exactly where I think it always was in canon - a deeply felt bond between mentor and student, essentially a surrogate parent relationship, with a lot of affection and teasing and cuteness that is completely not romantic (because it would break both of their brains to think of the other in that sense). So there. XD
