Had a busy but lovely weekend full of holiday shopping and then holiday party, and then recovering from the whirlwind of holiday-party-preparations. I got to see lots of friends I don't see as often as I'd like... and I got really cool presents from people, too. ♥
Also, yesterday we watched "Masque of Mandragora" and "Ark in Space," the latter with the commentary by Lis Sladen, Tom Baker, and the producer whose name I have already forgotten. Both were very good, although "Masque" felt more or less as though the Doctor Who crew had snagged hold of the entire set and costumes for a production of Romeo and Juliet and then quickly written up a script to match it. It was fantastic, but I was overwhelmed at a few moments with the feeling that Tybalt and Mercutio ought to be appearing any minute. Slightly odd, that.
The most important feature of the commentary for "Ark in Space," from my point of view, was everyone laughing at the "Harry is only qualified to work on sailors" line, followed by a very pointed little cough from Lis (just in case we had somehow missed the innuendo...), and Tom Baker's frequent comments to the effect of "Now what have I done now?" I'm used to this from someone watching a movie... less so when they're watching their own performance in something.
Unfortunately, I seem to have developed a whopping chest cold. Biiiiig hacking cough. I foresee a lot of tea and broth in my near future... and I forgot to bring one of my new Dalek figures to work with me to be my work mascot. Alas. ;)
Oh! I have not forgotten the responses to the meme I started last week! I just got caught up in holiday stuff this weekend. I'll be posting replies in the next day or two!

Date: 2007-12-11 10:21 pm (UTC)Oh yeah, they're awesome. I still haven't seen loads of them, but I've loved almost all that I've seen. You've got to listen to the commentary for Ark in Space. It's the only one of the old ones that I've heard the commentary for, so far, but it's adorable.
Also, your icon? Brilliant. XD
