Hmm. How about a meme, snagged from
theladyfeylene?
Name a character that you know I write or have written, and I'll tell you:
a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
b. One of his/her best traits.
c. One of his/her worst traits.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
e. The story/thread/chapter/post/paragraph/tag/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character. [I may not be able to find it and exactly reproduce it, but I'll try to remember which story at least...]
f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.
Oh, and update on the thumb-drive thing - I ordered a new one off NewEgg. 4 gigs! XD

Date: 2008-04-30 09:22 pm (UTC)a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her. Nine was my first Doctor, so I'd say it was probably the intensity of his joy in life, contrasted with the depth of his loneliness.
b. One of his/her best traits. Curiosity - in every incarnation, the Doctor is unfailingly enthusiastic about discovery.
c. One of his/her worst traits. This is where we get onto tricky ground, between the different Doctors. Nine's was often his guilt, Ten's is his cruel and unforgiving streak, Four's was his arrogance... but since most of the Doctors have problems with arrogance, I'm going with that.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character. Nine, Eight, Ten and Four are easy for me. The others I'm not yet comfortable with.
e. The story/thread/chapter/post/paragraph/tag/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character. Oh... I think I came closest in "Last Breath Before the Fall (http://rivendellrose.livejournal.com/551072.html#cutid1)," even though that was meant to be a Romana fic. I loved the way their conversation about Gallifrey turned out.
f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.
Right now, I've got a Master/Doctor (Fifth Doctor and academy-era), a Four/Romana, a Harry Sullivan/Nine, and a reeeeeally long multi-era that focuses on the Ninth and Tenth Doctors and Romana. So yup, there's definitely stuff coming up in the future!
