So, what percentage of people in the world do you suppose work from 9-6? I'm betting most of them. That's probably why they call them business hours.

So if Dell sends out a freaking technician to bring me my freaking part for my freaking computer... do you suppose it might be an itty little problem if said technician can only come out during business hours? "What hours do you work?" the nice young man asks me. I WORK THE SAME HOURS YOU DO. "Hmm, that's going to be a problem..."

Gee.... you think?

So... I now have to either convince my roommate to wait at home for this guy some afternoon coming up, since she gets off work earlier than I do, or convince my boss to let me come in late some day in the coming weeks. Because I have to be there to watch this guy replace a part in my computer. Argh.

I run into the same problem with FedEx, except without any expectation of when they might arrive. "Sometime between eight in the morning and six in the evening. Whenever the driver feels like it."
I bites them.

Yeah, our FedEx guy seems to enjoy stopping by between when the apartment office closes (at 5:30) and when we get home (around 6:30). Every damn time.

This is why I'm glad everybody I order stuff from seems to use UPS. And, y'know... doesn't seem to give a damn about just leaving my packages on the floor in front of our mailbox.

It drives me crazy that all of these people seem to think all have all day to sit around at home and wait, despite the fact that you work the same hours as most of the rest of the population. I don't know why they continue to not understand that.

You wouldn't think it'd be such a difficult concept, would you? Need job to have money to demand home delivery of parts, yes? Yes. So probably HAVE JOB. Sigh.

Yup. It's gonna be that or reshuffle my work schedule for a day, I guess, and come in a few hours early so I can leave a few hours early... so I can deal with this stupid thing and get my damned computer fixed.

Completely off-topic, but I figured you'd want to see this (if you haven't already):

Basically, the artist threw all ten Doctors together. I don't know the series nearly as well as you do, but I understand he's captured all of their distinct personalities very well. And seeing the long succession of companions react to each other is entertaining.
