"Embarrassing" - adj. Definition of the moment: Having slightly over-long short hair (only people who have had short hair will understand this exact description, I think) that is just long enough that one does not have time to dry it after a shower in the morning, causing arrival at work amid well-coiffed advocates etc. with the world's raggediest, stick-up-iest hair, making one look like a drowned rat with fashion sense so bad it's gone off into the negative numbers.

Part of the idea of the stupid shower was to prevent a bad hair day, damn it. It'll dry, I know, but... until then, I look like something that got dredged out of the street drains.

Anyway. A note that makes me happy - y'all know I'm not usually the sort to follow celebrity gossip of the "who's dating who" variety, but... if David Tennant really is dating Georgia Moffat, I will never stop laughing at him. In a jealous sort of way, mind you, because damn, but... honestly, Tennant. Dating your childhood hero's daughter? That's just hilarious.

Also, is anyone actually surprised that there will only be five episodes of Torchwood next year? Honestly, people. After what happened at the end of last season (which I won't mention directly, but those of you who've seen it Know What I Mean), I figure they're in a panic going "shit, crap, bugger - how do we keep this damned thing rolling now?"

...Okay, maybe I'm not surprised they're not thinking it, but I am surprised the fandom isn't. I mean, really.

In other news: Still sinusy, but functional. Ear still hurts, but not as bad. Cat woke me up last night by deciding that my laptop, which was on top of my desk, is the Best Cat-Bed EVER. Fortunately for him, he's cute, and wasn't damaging anything.

Ahh that cute thing has saved my cats many a time. *grin*

Yeeeeeeeeah. The classic sleepy-face "what mom, I wasn't doing aaaaanything, I was just here being fuzzy and cute!"

They know when they're about to get punted, I swear.

Oh, man - I definitely get what you mean about the short hair! Mine was down to about the tips of my ears for a long time, and was just horrendous as it was growing out, all poofing out at the sides in strange directions. Ick.

Hee, David Tennant! What a fanboy. What can I say?

Glad you're feeling a bit better! And oh, kitties. Just because they're cute and fluffy, they think they can get away with murder. (And it's so, so true!)

When it's newly cut, mine's right at my jaw-line. Right now... it's at the awkward point between chin and shoulder-length, and it looooooooves to stick out weirdly, especially when it hasn't been dried properly. Bleh. Time for a haircut this weekend, I think!

He so is. I'm sure if it's true he would swear up and down it has nothing to do with that... but I totally wouldn't believe him. ♥

(It's true!!! Manipulative little beasts.)

GM is the cutest thing I've ever seen. But she looks so young that I'd feel weird dating her, and I'm a decade younger than Tennant.

Five episodes, really? That's not even half a season.

Thank you for saying that, because I kept thinking it and then going "damn, honey, that's just a weird feeling to have about a girl who's probably older than you."

They're probably going to be specials like Doctor Who is getting? What'd they say, 65 minutes? Something like that. While they try to figure out how the hell to keep Barrowman, since he's flat-out said in interviews that he's having Creative Differences with the team.

I hear you on the hair thing! For me, the problem is that I got a fancy haircut (fancier than I'm used to, at least) on Saturday, and am still trying to figure out how to make it work when I don't have an experienced hairdresser styling it for me. It probably doesn't look that bad, but it's definitely not as good as it was, and I keep self-consciously pawing at it.

And also, I agree that Theo's life has been saved many a time by his cuteness.

Yeah... Sometimes I really really miss my straight, long, simple haircut where if I wasn't having a good hair day or didn't have time to do anything with it, I could just throw it in a braid or a ponytail or a bun. When it works, I love the way my short cut looks, but... other times it's annoying.

Did you go for layers, or is it a lot shorter?

Heck yes. Fuzzy little bastard knows it, too. :P

Luckily, it's still long enough that I can put my hair up when it's looking crappy (which I did yesterday). However, the downside of having layers is that the natural wave in my hair (which is very slight, but is more pronounced when my hair is shorter) makes the layers go every which way ... so I'm trying to figure out a low-maintenance styling technique that I can use on a daily basis.

Good luck... I've had decent luck with just sticking my head under a sink for a minute and blow-drying it again, when it's mussed by sleep or something. It might be worth a try?

Honestly, that's probably all I need to do - I'm just too lazy to blow-dry my hair every day. :P I've been trying to see how much I can just get away with brushing it (with one of those cylindrical hairbrushes) in the mornings. Maybe I'll blow-dry/style it in the evenings after my shower, when I'm not in a rush.

Heh, my first thought was actually "if it sucks so much I have to stop watching at least I won't miss much". :D

And David! I just shook my head. It feels a little weird to me, but hey, if they're happy I guess.

Yeeeeeeah. I'm so pissed off about Certain People not being on the show any more that I'd already pretty much convinced myself that it'd only irritate me to try to watch it next year... so this is a winner of a decision for me! Besides, I seriously... with the cast they've got left, I just can't imagine it being worthwhile. At all. But that might just be me.

I... still don't totally buy it, given the source, but am nonetheless amused.

Me either! I love JB but I'm not sure I can watch just for him. I mean I don't watch any of the reality stuff he does for eg.

Huh, where did you hear it from? Cause it's even hit the Telegraph now, which is fairly reliable.

And given some of the things he's said in interviews... um... yeah. I don't watch his other stuff, but I know he'd hardly be hurting if he walked away from Torchwood. And as much as I love Ianto and have come to vaguely not-hate Gwen... yeah.

...Holy crap, it has? When I saw the link this morning, it was from the Sun. Which... not so much, unless I'm mixing up newspapers.

I've not been reading any interviews lately - what's he been saying?

Oh yeah, if it was only in the Sun I'd call bullshit but the Telegraph is a broadsheet and I'd presume they'd do some actual fact checking.

I... saw a little bit in an interview a bit ago where he pretty much flat-out said that if things didn't change in how Torchwood was being handled, he wasn't sure he'd stick with it. But of course I promptly forgot where I saw the link, so I can't really give anything more than a "no, really, unless I'm misremembering" about it. I really should take notes on these things. :P

Sheeeeeesh. Yeah, if I'd seen the link in the Telegraph I'd have assumed it was true, too. Wow. Um. Excuse me, I have to go laugh at Tennant now.

Seriously, could that guy live more of the perfect geek-boy dream? Wow. I want his luck for a while....

Exactly. And I respect that a lot, particularly given what a sweet guy Barrowman always comes off as in interviews, commentaries, so on. He never fails to put his costars in a good light, and that's a rare thing in a leading-actor type.

Noted. ;)

I just realized: probably one of the most important things in life is being around the people you love ...

Paris Hilton doesn't think so ... did you see her last video? She is realy NUDE! I saw this video on BBC today!

Crazy people around us!
