monday morning and all's well

Yesterday, maymargaret and I walked from our place to Fremont, and then back via the U-District. It was a lovely walk, with lots of fun shopping and wandering and lunch involved, and we spent the evening with all our friends celebrating the return of ratzeo from the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, I also managed to get a sunburn all over both my arms, because I'm stupid and only put sunscreen on my face and chest. Sigh.

But other than the ouchiness, it was a great weekend - got lots of cleaning done on Saturday, got lots of drawing done on both days, and I got a lot of random little shiny things (including a cute orange bikini... which I am now slightly dubious about because OMG, bikini) that make me happy, as well. No writing, but... we can't do everything in one weekend, I guess?

I have a team outing for work today, to go play whirly ball (no, I don't know what it is, either - the pictures the manager sent make it look like something between bumper-cars and lacrosse with whiffle balls), which should be infinitely more entertaining than a usual day of car websites, so I'm looking forward to that. Otherwise, not a whole lot to add at the moment.

It's... like basketball with bumper-cars and a whiffle ball, if that makes any sense at all. It was weird, but very amusing. XD

Turns out, whirly ball is like... okay, if you put eight people on an indoor basketball court with weird flooring and give them bumper cars, short lacrosse scoops, and a whiffle ball, and then tell them to shoot scores from their bumper cars. That's what I got paid to do for a few hours of my day today. It was kind of hilarious.

No pictures yet, but I did see one of my coworkers taking pictures, so I hope she'll send those around soon. The whole thing was too surreal not to be shared.
