a very nice weekend

Hey all - I'm alive, I'm just a little out of touch right now with work and spotty internet connection and a writing project that needs some serious work. Fun stuff!

The weekend was awesome, brilliantly sunny and warm, and I had a blast at ursule and glasseye's wedding, which was absolutely gorgeous and fun. Yesterday contained a bit of fail, since my intention of going to the art museum before my doctor's appointment was cruelly foiled by said art museum not being open on Mondays, apparently. Oops. But I met up with maymargaret for happy hour at this awesome French restaurant after, so that was all good.

Oh, and my heart is completely normal. That's probably supposed to be the important thing, isn't it? But compared to oysters and mussels and cheese plate and French martinis... anyway. My heart is normal, my cardiologist is fully convinced that I am normal except for an unusually low tolerance for caffeine and stress-activated atrial-fibrillation, so I am officially clear to go on about my life as normal, so long as I stay hydrated, take baby aspirin, and keep away from lots of caffeine. Yay!

Oh, and I bought a bunch of fall clothes. Because I am a clothes-whore, and fall is my favorite season. ♥

Great big YAY! with a side of "Oh, you too?" That's almost exactly why I had to give up caffeine mumble-many years ago. *hugs*

Yay! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one... my cardiologist seemed so bemused by me the first time we met that I seriously wondered for a while if something weird was up. I guess it happens, though. *Hugs*

It is, but that's what I get for not actually checking before-hand, I guess. I just wandered around the city, tried a few things on, but didn't find anything I absolutely needed (after a weekend where I bought a white wool coat entirely because it fit me well and my roommate introduced me to it by saying "Look, I found you a Lucy Saxon coat!" She's a bad influence. XD)

Thanks! It really has been amazingly pretty out lately... I hope it sticks for a little while as it gets cold, too - nothing like bright, sunny days when it's brisk and cool!

(And ack, I will get back to you soon about meeting up. Last week and this week were both kind of nuts, but next week should be much better.)

The impressionist exhibit? Yeah, it closes this weekend, and closing weekends are always so busy, so... I guess I'll just have to go early on Saturday. I've heard nothing but good things about it!

Because I am a clothes-whore, and fall is my favorite season.

Summer is my favorite of seasons, by far .. but fall is fun for clothes. I've been making myself shirts with billowy sleeves.

I love summer for long days and sun and no-rain (all big deals in my area!), but I can't help getting excited every year when the leaves change and the weather starts getting colder. So pretty! And this year all the rich colors and tweed and plaid and hats are in, and I love all those things, so... I'm stocking up on good clothes that I can wear year 'round if I'm careful with them. XD

Yay! Yeah, I like knowing my heart doesn't have anything weird. And it was neat watching the ultrasounds!

It really doesn't. Especially not in a year where tweed and plaid and 1920s-style everything is in here in the U.S. My taste is hardly ever in step with the dominant fashion, but right now I'm loving it. Waist-coats and pencil skirts and hats and riding boots! ♥
