My knees look like I daubed them all over against a set of watercolor paints and then tried to scrape off the paint with a cheese grater. They feel like that, too, with the addition of having nice big weights stuffed in under both patellas. It's great. Anyway. Better than yesterday, when I had all of that with the addition of feeling like every muscle in my upper body had turned to rocks due to having wrenched them by catching myself when I fell. Bleh.
While I was playing "unable to move, knees cannot bend" yesterday, we watched the first two episodes of Battlestar Galactica (the new one). As with the miniseries, I very much enjoyed them. Particularly like Starbuck (which should be no surprise to anyone, I suppose) and Boomer. Love to hate Gaius, the idiot. ♥
Took the cat to the vet yesterday, and he has a clean bill of health, but, as I figured might be the case, needs to lose some weight. Turns out he's actually 18 pounds, now, not just 15. Good lord. Anyway, I talked with the vet about it and got some websites to look over, and will be cutting down his calorie intake and paying more conscious attention to getting him up and about and active, at least when I'm home. We'll buy him some new toys as an inducement to that. And I probably ought to buy a bathroom scale, so that I can keep an eye on his weight from here on, without having to haul him up to the vet's office and have them weigh him. They'll do it for free, but it's a hassle to stuff him in the carrier and so on.

(Oh, and a friend pointed me in the direction of some old Doctor Who audios with Tony Head as the villain - are you interested? I still haven't found the actual audios anywhere, but if I do find them I can pass the link your way... :D)

Date: 2008-09-22 08:55 pm (UTC)(In fact, every time I see that icon of yours, my first thought is "Bashir!" ...and then I realize it's Gaius and am still happy but in a slightly less wooby kind of way. XD)
And yes, the knees are getting better. Thank goodness. I was really getting sick of having to mutter "ow, ow, ow" every time I took a step or shifted position.
