Found on one of my random news-collecting sites today: This is the most fascinating thing I've seen in a long time. I can't help but stare. That is pure artistry - a more lovely thing I've not seen in a very long time. The story is interesting, of course, but the picture....... wow. I find it almost hard to believe that it was done back in the late 19th century... I know they had amazing artists back then, obviously, but this is worthy of modern model-making genius.

Just for a moment, looking at that picture, can't you almost believe?

That is fantastic. I stared at it for a few minutes. I'd really like to see it up close, how intriguing. But, wait, an umbilical cord? Don't dragons come from eggs? All those spikes, ouch, poor mommy.

Well, if you look at baby chicks when they're still in eggs, they have have an umbilicus.... I'm figuring they're still egg-born.....
