rivendellrose | dear lj: today, we had firemen

Today, we had firemen in our apartment. Nothing serious, no harm done, but suffice to say that the Boy's attempt at blackened chicken salad for dinner was delicious, if not quite worth the hassle and bother (and earache) of our fire alarm going off and then refusing to shut off. The firemen were very nice, though, and the people in the surrounding apartments were kind enough to say that they've done it, too.

As the granddaughter of a fireman, I was horribly embarrassed, but it was a good laugh afterward (once our ears had recovered and the cats stopped slinking around like they thought the evil screaming thing was going to come back and get them again. And the salad really was quite good.
