*massive relief*
Mar. 9th, 2004 10:53 amIt's done! We performed our act today! And the class and professor really liked it!!!
Such a relief to have it done... I'm gonna miss it, though. I'd never noticed until now how much I regretted no longer having theater as part of my life. I miss losing myself in a character. I do it with writing, now, sure - and that's a blast, it really is. But I miss being able to fully play everything out, to live the part physically as well as mentally.
And Professor Frey seemed really impressed with my performance - he said I don't seem like I'm acting, that I know my lines so well that I'm not acting anymore, I just seem to become the character. And I thought about it a bit... and I really feel like that's what I do. I don't think when I'm onstage - I just act and react, and let the lines... take me where they want to go. It's almost a zen sort of thing, when it works right. I'm glad I'm taking the second half of the Shakespeare class next quarter... and maybe I'll try out for some amateur theater stuff sometime soon. Although with the honors classes I probably won't really have time.
Have a few jobs today... one in the afternoon, after my Religions class. And god do I need to take the garbage out... something in there is really starting to get nasty. That's ok... I have to clean my desk anyway.
