I can't beat IO9's headline for this story: The Folks Who Made The Robot 'Big Dog' Are Building a Real Cylon.

...Is it too early to say that I, for one, welcome our new Toaster overlords? ♥

Also, snagged from [livejournal.com profile] deborah_judge:

In honor of All Hallow's Eve, I'm inviting trick-or-treaters to my 'door'.

Comment "trick-or-treat" to this post and I'll give you a treat. Treats can be anything that strikes my fancy (pics of fave actors or pairings, one sentence fics, graphics, a few words why I'm glad to have you on my flist, etc. etc.). The more "houses" to visit the more fun it'll be, so go ahead, open your journal and help spread the fun!

Can't promise I'll be prompt (y'all know usually happens when I do, after all... and I am actually at work, alas), but I'll try to get everybody!

Eeee!

Kara wondered what poor souls had failed to die properly in order to give the colonists the Lords of Kobol.

Very interesting thought. I like that she'd see it that way.

Maybe that was why, the first time Leoben came to her, it was at night.

Oh, lovely. And she's settling, taking what comfort she can in the awful confusion that is her (after-)life. She'd really rather it were Sam. But when she's got no options she's got no options. It's like an arranged marriage that she doesn't really have a choice about. And that totally makes sense as a take on the Kara/Leoben relationship, neither of them are really in it because they want to be, but they can somehow find a way to love each other anyway.

Are you still thinking of expanding this into something longer?

Besides, do you really want to think about how many politicians would take the "you can't enslave a machine" tactic?

Most of them. But I like to think some wouldn't.

To be honest, I'm not even sure she'd really rather it, or at least not how seriously she would, deep down. There's so much messiness and confusion in her relationship with Sam that I just don't understand. She obviously loves him, but he's obviously not enough, and... on some level, she just keeps getting herself tied up with these oddly solar boys and can't make her mind up between any of them. I don't even know.

Thinking, yes, and even sometimes trying. The blasted thing keeps fighting me. The last time I tried, Six and Baltar were the sticking point - I can't seem to figure out whether to stick with the head!Six and head!Baltar that we see in the series, or with Caprica and Gaius, or with some weird combination of both somehow. I keep hoping I'll pick it up one day and it will have fixed itself. The last Leoben/Kara fic did that, so there's hope...
